Nerd_Rage Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I love this game and would love to get into more of what expert multi-player has to offer. The only problem is, years of playing Aces High has left me with no need to ever learn how to navigate. Are there any tutorials that anyone could give me? I am dying to learn how. Thanks!

indiaciki Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) Glad to help. Here's a navigational enroute chart for the stalingrad map (headings, distances, Runway orientations)...full map and printable version: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/10728-enroute-chart-stalingrad-map/ http://www.radiofilms.net/BOS/Stalingrad_enroute_chart_pdf.pdf http://www.radiofilms.net/BOS/enroutepdfprint.pdf Edited October 21, 2014 by indiaciki 1
SharpeXB Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Just follow the prescribed headings in your mission plan (Campaign) for the approximate time and look for landmarks. It's easy. In multiplayer just make up your own waypoints.
indiaciki Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) I guess the waypoints are yellow floatig circles with distances showing in your HUD or did they have HMDs since GPS was common in 1942 - press "o": Edited October 26, 2014 by indiaciki

Brewnix Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 SO the O button also shows enemy aircraft over your sides airfields. So is that a radar of the time I guess.

In normal mode yes, unless you press i to get rid of the radar ( also your plane icon too tho ). In expert mode you only see your plane icon ( no radar ) which also can be switched off using i button. Mick.

What was funny was the expert servers I flew in the O button didnt work i thought it was disabled but found out later i had to poplate it in the service section so it came up. This whole time I was flying with the yahoo widget "Virtual Protractor" and a map on a second screen. I would run the game in window mode and i can pan back and for with the protractor and the map trying to navigate Identifing terrain features and such and the whole time the in game map was there.
