germanicusgermanicus1936 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 "SKVORIN", user name, has posted a series of photos combining period German B&W images with current color photos of the same location. Very touching for an old history buff like me. I told my son these photos are how I feel, as if in two coexisting time frames. At 76, I have read too many books but then that's why I love the flight sims. I get to participate in history. Go to "wehrmachtawards.com" ( think that is correct), then forum "photos and paper items", then about half way down left side index 'Stalingrad Then and Now" and admire the excellent then and nows. Note all the praise heaped on skvorin who, I think, may live in Stalingrad. He has done a wonderful job. He has identified the locations and matched the images making history clashing emotions. No AC but all you history buffs may feel the flight sim more as you see the juxtaposition. He has put in much time and effort as you will see. 1
Pierre64 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Welcome and thanks for sharing. Here is the direct link: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=457719
Uufflakke Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) I can not see the images 'cause I don't have an account at the Wehrmacht site. But recently I also posted Stalingrad Then and Now images. Maybe they are the same. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/1048-stalingrad-1942-volgograd-2013-overlaid-images/ EDIT: Now I see the images of the Wehrmacht link. I only watched page 1. The other pages show the overlaid images. Interesting to see. Thanks for letting us know. Edited September 1, 2013 by Uufflakke
