SCG_Neun Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0a34fILnbw&feature=youtu.be I was bow hunting this afternoon and had a four pointer come in on me. I grabbed the camera instead of my bow......and filmed him coming in to actually lick the ladder to my stand. He needs some situational awareness training for sure....... 1
SOLIDKREATE Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) I'm really contemplating buying this one or a Phropechy Skullworks: PSE EVO Edited October 19, 2014 by KOTP_SPEKTRE76
SCG_Neun Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) That's rated one fine bow....looks like both of them are....Here where I hunt....average shot 20 yds and in......not like you western guys....I don't need that much bow......I have trouble now...shooting the nocks off my arrows. SOLIDKREATE Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I remember my first bow was a Bear Yukon Hunter II. And I had a really nice wood Browning recurve.
SCG_Neun Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) I started out with a recurve Kodiak Magnum, back when bowhunting was an art form and we idolized Fred Bear....but then again, we still do, right? As I've gotten older...I watch more and more and shoot, less and less. These modern bows are absolutely incredible in accuracy. Pie plate, 20 yards to 30 yards max is how I first started out. Now...I don't even practice much during the off season...it's like riding a bike. My dad and mom moved out to Port Angeles for five years back in the mid 70's after they retired. Nice country out that way. Plenty of game..Blacktails......if I remember right. Here I can hunt next to the house, or travel about 15 minutes to a farm that has some good habitat, but I'm not looking for that monster buck like I used to...just enjoying nature. That's not to say I'll pass up a shot on a nice one..... Year before...Muzzle kill and the woods I shot him in...he came out from the left back there.......at about 80 yds in the brush..... SOLIDKREATE Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 HOLY SH@#! nice buck man! It's been a really long time since I had deer. I did have some deer jerky last year though. I need to get outdoors again. I live in Lake Stevens WA right next to a lot of wilderness.
