smink1701 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Just launched the game and it updated. Anyone know what's included?
ST_ami7b5 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 That letter g/s in front of your name fixed...
smink1701 Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 Yes… Knows that I was wondering if there was anything else
ST_ami7b5 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) Don't know, not flying for two weeks since the grind started, waiting for a miracle... Which is unlikely to come in a reasonable period of time after seeing those release covers. As a 'hot fix' I bought DCS:Mi-8 today for $14.99 - OK, don't take it too seriously Edit: see the pic Edited October 18, 2014 by ST_ami7b5
VRPilot Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 As a 'hot fix' I bought DCS:Mi-8 today for $14.99 - OK, don't take it too seriously I got myself the DCS Flaming Cliffs 3 while waiting for the patch last night...
Nil Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 ... As a 'hot fix' I bought DCS:Mi-8 today for $14.99 - OK, don't take it too seriously .... Got that one at an earlier sale.. or maybe even at pre- release. Really fun, and pretty hard to get the hang on, a lot easier to miss targets, and a lot harder to do rooftoplnadings with then the Huey!
ST_ami7b5 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) I have all DCS copters. Black Shark 2 is most sexy IMHO Edit: sry for OT Edited October 18, 2014 by ST_ami7b5
69th_chuter Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I don't mean to throw any gasoline on the fire, but all four of those Mi-8 tires are too skinny and the nose tires way too tall. Seriously. And while the grooved tires aren't unheard of on military variants it would be nice to have the baldies. That, frankly, is why I haven't bothered picking it up ... yet. Hope they fix it. ... and ... anyone taking this seriously needs help (although the "errors" above are real, dammit! ). And ANOTHER update now I'm getting. Three in less than sixteen hours. This last one was some 80Mb.
KodiakJac Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) I got myself the DCS Flaming Cliffs 3 while waiting for the patch last night... Looks like a trend. I bought my first DCS products (Flaming Cliffs 3, Huey, Mi-8, and the Black Shark) a fews days after seeing the SP Campaign in BoS and knowing I needed to find something else for my "new sim" fix. But still hoping for a miracle change in the BoS SP Campaign. If the SP Campaign is left as it is and this is the new game play style for the IL-2 series I won't be buying any further IL-2 products in the future. Edited October 18, 2014 by Bucksnort
dburne Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I too have most of the DCS Modules now, with the winter months coming that is when I will have the most time on the weekends for my hobby. I have more than enough to keep me well occupied.
Pringliano Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) DCS is certainly a nice sim, but... nah... not bringing me the same feel of IL2 BOS... Just gave up on it - was using it just for the uh1h and mi8 ( both very good ) and the p51d and fw190, but the recently introduced "propwash bug" ( my opinion ) and the overall feel of the fw190, have put me away from it :-/. Even gave up on the pre-purchase of the Bf109 because I fear it'll feel probably a lot like the fw190 d9... There is no impact of highspeed in your control inputs, you can maneuver the fw190 until you suddenly clip one or both of your wings without the slightest hint of having starting to reach the limits, like a simple pilot blackout. At 700-800 km/h you can happily recover from a dive, and probably clip your wings... Try that in il2... Before reaching such a situation, some control surfaces can start to depart, you will completely blackout... well... I really feel the p51d is great in DCS, but let's wait for a different battle in il2 and get it here :-) Edited October 19, 2014 by jcomm
KodiakJac Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I really feel the p51d is great in DCS, but let's wait for a different battle in il2 and get it here :-) So I can be congratulated every sortie by yellow banner text for "taking off" then hurry to the "action point" to "Stay sharp! Enemy bombers are near." I don't think so.

I fully support BoS because I really like it. Yes, including the SP campaign
KodiakJac Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Or you can just turn it off, if you do not want it... Chees Dakpilot How do I turn it off? It would be fine for beginners I'm sure...I just don't want to see it. This is bugging a lot of players so it would be helpful to get the word out on how to turn it off. Thanks!
Dakpilot Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Press H to get rid of it before takeoff use O to bring up the map cycle through I to change what level of info you need to see, just route, just own aircraft and route or more info, targets etc. Cheers Dakpilot
