Trooper117 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Completed the first quarter of The Ring of Death... (final chapter) of the campaign. In this last chapter, I'm going through it in expert mode, as previously in my other campaign experiment I was grinding through on normal settings. Have to say, this has upped the gameplay somewhat. I am now getting more varied missions, sometimes finding myself on lone missions stalking bombers etc, and makes for completing a mission much more difficult. Enemy fighter escorts seem more aggressive and will pursue me. This is turning out to be the best segment of the campaign for me

avlSteve Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 About 7 flights in I switched settings to "expert". It wasn't as daunting as I thought it might be; not exactly a "full real" setting, as your position is displayed on the Ops screen (praise be unto Glory, lest the sheer terror of being perpetually lost would be the main experience). Complex engine management, no icons, and I switch off the HUD unless someone's talking or I'm looking for some info. I've got my track-IR dialed in, and for about a year I've been using a unit I built to mount my Fighterstick and throttle Q to. I have no idea why my gunnery is so spastic. I think I survive over half the missions. Having a blast with it!
