A suggestion for locked loadouts in multiplayer

I've noticed that in the single-player campaign it is possible to fly a plane that is carrying weapons that have not yet been unlocked by the player.

 

For one example, in a ground attack mission in an Il-2 I was given a plane that had rockets... and rockets are the last of the upgrades to be unlocked in the Il-2 sequence, and I have not progressed to that point yet.

 

This implies that a mechanism exists that permits a mission designer to 'lock' a loadout yet permit a player who has not yet unlocked that loadout to use it.

 

If this mechanism could be extended to multiplayer missions, then perhaps much of the anguish related to such locked loadouts could be alleviated.

 

My intended-to-be-constructive suggestion is to make the campaign-related locked/unlocked loadouts apply in multiplayer only to optional loadouts, while letting the mission designer designate locked loadouts for specific flights that would make those loadouts available to whatever pilot chooses that flight.

 

The benefits of this approach are likely to be obvious to those who spend most of their time in multiplayer.
