Bulkhead Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I haven't seen much on this. Is the parking brake working? I can't get it to work so I still use the map.
Brano Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 AFAIK it is not working (if it is standard equipped for given plane). It is problem mostly for soviet figters, which have a bit weaker brakes comparing to messer and Fw.So when I want to start with cold engine and do proper start up and heating procedure,I cant increase revvs without plane starting to move.So either parking brake or chocks would be nice addition for us cold engine fans
Bulkhead Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Ok, thanks. You can use the full map view. At least its working very well on the He-111. Hold the brakes, then press "O", release the brakes and then leave the full map view. The brakes stay on until you press the brakes again. I like to cold start from parking too. +1 for parking brake and chocks. I guess this is only working for brakes assigned to key, not axis... Not sure. Edited October 14, 2014 by Bulkhead
Sokol1 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 You can simulated a "park brake" be using a modifier for an axis. Go to Controls and add, e.g LShift+Joystick1_axis_Z (in me case this is throttle axis) for Wheel Brakes (leave the "default" assignments as is, just add a new). Be press LShift and move throttle axis from 100 to 0 (the engine throttle is not affected when you press LShift) the Wheel Brakes are applied, be release LShift brakes remain in position. To release the "park brakes" do the inverse way, and when release LShift move throttle back quickly to dont affect the engine throttle (this have a delay). But... Yak-1 brakes full applied is not able to hold the engine propulsion with throttle open.
