alexruston Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 hi should i get il2 battle of stalingrad now or wait for the game to come out of beta ? thanks.
Finkeren Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Welcome to the forums There's not a lot missing from the sim as it is now. If you're gonna get it, you might as well buy in right away. If you browse the forums these days you might encounter a lot of negativity. This is primarily due to the recent release of the campaign mode, which kinda disappointed a lot of people (myself included). Don't let that discourage you. The sim itself is great with very good performance and stability, and single player content will improve a lot both in the coming weeks until launch and beyond. Hope to see you in the skies soon. Leaf Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Welcome to the forums. Keep a careful look-out for any marauding leaves. They're more dangerous than you might think. Main things is to enjoy the game and be patient with it. A lot of folk around here compare this game to its previous installments, which doesn't quite work. IL2 is like a good champagne. It matures with age. Trouble is, a lot of people here expect a grape to already be a mature champagne. So enjoy it for what it is, it'll just get better and better! 2
keeno Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Hi Alexruston, pretty much what Finkeren says. I'm 75% single player and I'm really enjoying it, I don't mind the campaign mode that a lot of online Multi players a unhappy about. The graphics are great, the sounds are good, the effects are awesome and there's a ton of cool detail in there. I'm sure it will get better and better when the game comes out as RoF did and some talented modders got hold of it. If you can afford it I say go for it, I don't regret spending the price on the sim and have had hours and hours of fun on it already. Hope this helps.
alexruston Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 thank you all for your insight i have just got the game
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Welcome Alex to the BoS forums ..... As it's been said above, read the forums, good and bad ..... watch the videos from YouTube and tutorial from Requiem on YouTube and then make your decisions. If you have further questions, feel free to ask in the forums .... But you might try searching first as many questions get asked more than once .... Chief
Trooper117 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Yes, do buy the game... the genre needs all the fans it can get
Skoots Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I'm having a blast playing it. If anyone is on the fence about this game, there are people out there that enjoy this title, we just aren't as vocal as some of the folks around here with a flair for the dramatics.

OOOOHH, THE HUMANITY!!! Ya, buy the game. It's only money, in a hundred years we'll all be dead.
Trooper117 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I wouldn't call it dramatics... there are people here that love their hobby and take it extremely seriously, nothing wrong with that. You might need a tin hat and a thick skin sometimes... but that's normal
pilotpierre Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Glad you purchased it Alex, you wont be disappointed. Welcome to the forums.
SCG_Neun Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 The game is awesome and has some really great features and it's only going to get better.
GP* Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Welcome . Whether or not the game has some minor faults (what game doesn't), it still has a lot to offer. You'll enjoy it I'm sure.
