indiaciki Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Just bought her and downloaded the original JNA manual from 1979/83... my first jet. Lost of work ahead... Anybody flying her?
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Yeah, what kind of nurd likes the Fishbed? It's a pretty awesome module. Simple to grasp, even.
indiaciki Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 Bought it. Didn't regret it for a second. I'm going through the original manual (21bis) of the yugoslav airforce ( 238 pages from1979) and the DCS manual (198 p)... They seem to have modeled every single thing the real airplane has. Very impressive.
indiaciki Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 http://www.avialogs.com/viewer/avialogs-documentviewer.php?id=15621 very similar to the JNA manual
Chuck_Owl Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Formation flying is an absolute blast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EhrjNcViAI
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 S! I wish I still had the ground crew manual for the plane. Could set the pre-flight settings in cockpit before the start up
indiaciki Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 I think the pre flight settings are in the operational manual (english) at page 70... in the yugoslav manual at page 74. The manuals are almost identical. Start up is a little bit different in the oder compared to the sim manual... but they still work in the sim as well (RL manual start up procedures).
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 S! I recall the startup was pretty straightforward. Groundcrew supplied external power for the starter. Mig-21bis took over 1000 Amperes of current when that starter cranked the engine!

indiaciki Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Great My father's flight instructor was also an MIG21 instructor. He loved her. Where did you work on her?
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 S! Finnish Air Force. Not for long, but enough to learn it. 17 years under my belt now with planes and counting
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Just splashed 2 Fulcrums and a Flanker on a friend's server. CAN'T DEAD THE FISHBED.
indiaciki Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 Today I saw 2-3 Mig 21bis flying over Belgrade:)
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 S! Here the Mig was called affectionately the "Flying sewer tube" as it is a tube with stubby wings :D
