6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 So yeah..., the Unlocks in MP are really bothering me since I am done with SP after I stopped playing CFS3. I want to fly MP with everything available and if an unlock system is necessary for SP, then keep it there. My humble opinion, maybe some will agree. 7
IVJG4-Knight Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 And if i want to play the fw 190 with wing cannons in mp why do i have to grind for those when it was standard factory armament ?
3instein Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Just get rid of unlocks full stop. Never going to happen I'm afraid, they have built the whole game around this concept so they are here to stay. Sad but true. Mick. Edited October 12, 2014 by 3instein
DD_bongodriver Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 they can do it, they took away customisable graphics, the whole game to date did not include unlocks until the last update, they only just put it in so it shouldn't be difficult to take it out.
von_Tom Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I think it was in April they said that unlocks were to be implemented. A bit late to complain now. Once official release happens folks that are whinging/espousing a genuine grievance* would be better off targeting their energy to unlocks. If people want to quit that's their prerogative of course. Hood *delete whichever one doesn't apply to you.
Dakpilot Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Like them or not, the unlocks, implemented the way they are now, were announced, confirmed and discussed (with poll) in July of last year....just saying Cheers Dakpilot
bivalov Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 "Angela Davis Must Be Free" ... "Unlocks - for SP only"
Obelix Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Unlock for all or no unlock at all, why specially "only for SP"? Edited October 12, 2014 by GCN_Obelix

BFsSmurfy Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) When I went Gamescom back in 2013 we were told straight from the horses mouth that the campaign was a personal crusade for one of the team and he wanted everyone to play it, all 3 of us that were entertained in that session (thanks to Jason and Loft btw and 1C) expressed concerns that this wouldn`t be popular and here we are over a year later and it looks like it`s being forced upon us due to the unlocks. We as MP players aren`t particularly interested in SP campaigns and unlocks have NO place on public servers where people spend their own time and effort creating scenarios that benefit not only those playing but the publisher through drawing people in to play realistic SEOW style play. It`s about time those in the team digging their heels in realised there`s been more disharmony brought on in the last 2 weeks than virtually the entire period prior to it. ARE WE AS MP PLAYERS ALL WRONG????? Edited October 12, 2014 by BFsSmurfy 3
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 FW-190 Windscreen bar issue - evidence presented, devs makes changes during early access. FW-190 Roll rate and FM issues questioned. Data submitted, devs currently reviewing for possible changes prior to release. Many post their disappointment of the sp campaign content and layout. - The devs communicate their intent to continue development of the campaign for the next 6 to 12 months. Majority of players (60+%) vote dislike of unlocks for mp on poll, many post valid reasons why unlocks do not belong in mp - no final word, only an acknowledgement that they have discussed it. An estimate is that to achieve full unlocks will take from 100 to 150 sorties at between 15 and 30 minutes per sortie. That forces mp players to fly somewhere between 25 hours and 75 hours in the sp campaign in order to get all their unlocks. There is always the option to not unlock anything. Although I do not fly sp, I think it is imperative that the devs put time and resources into the betterment of the sp campaign. This is a must for the longevity of the sim. The logic however of forcing mp players to unlock in sp has never been fully explained. Having the locks present restricts mp mission designers, squad cohesion, training, etc. I hope the devs continue to listen to the community and take the locks off in mp and not just add xp to mp to attain the unlocks. 3
3instein Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 All this hoo-haa about limiting the options, especially the graphic ones is something I just can't fathom out.I know that before I play any game I open the options tab to see what I can tinker with to get it looking right for playing on my system. It is not being elitist in the slightest but is what in some ways distinguishes PC players from console players, this is part of the perks of playing games on the PC is it not? Mick.
SharpeXB Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) If unlock are available for MP someone will just create an "Unlock" server with air spawn points 300m away from each other. Or an air spawn scenario with lots of easy undefended ground targets. Then the whole game will become a silly arcade air shooter... Edited October 12, 2014 by SharpeXB
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I suggest they go back to their ROF business plan, pay for full plane with the weapons... Make much better business sense. 2
J2_Trupobaw Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 The graphic presets make sense in early access and early release game, from debugging PoV - devs goal is to get the game working as specified ASAP, while giving us new early access version every week or two. With this many builds released so often and fresh non-graphic bugs introduced with each version, it makes sense to fix players options on graphics - to make sure everyone is using the same settings when error occurs, rather than consider more cases and sub-cases. It makes sense that they use time left until release to polish the campaign, rather than to bring back and debug graphics settings. After the game is released and there is no need for a hotfix every week, however, there will be no reason to not bring them back in some form if development continues.
IIN8II Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I agree, mp unlocks should not rely on the sp campaign.
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 There's no helping people like you, you're bitterness personified. The reason the game didn't include unlocks up until now is that singleplayer wasn't implemented. Did you notice? Taking away customisable graphics is very different from removing something the entire SP component of the game relies on. But, he does represent a fairly common opinion, how is he being bitter? Even if he were, a broken clock is still correct twice a day. Unlocks really don't have a place in a simulator. The reward of playing a sim shouldn't be a virtual pat on the back in the form of new liveries. It should be actually surmounting the challenge of operating machinery or understanding the nuances of individual machines. There is, however, a happy medium that everyone would love. In this thread, we have people who hate unlocks for various reasons, and we have Hood who feels they add a worthwhile asset to the game. Unlocks should be removed for multiplayer and mission builders out right. They do nothing but annoy those who enjoy the more open-ended experience. Individuals, like Hood, however probably would enjoy the more structured progression of the campaign, so leave the unlocks there. There is room for everyone here.

Just to point out that historically I've been MP only for a decade or so but I quite like the idea of unlocks and I'll be hitting the SP campaign as soon as release is final. Hood
