VikingFjord Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Should we get the custom settings for difficulty in campagine mode?we have it in quick mission and we had it in ROF (Rise Of Flight) Edited October 12, 2014 by VikingFjord
VikingFjord Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 For us that play yes i agree..but obviously this is not so obvious for developers...
Dakpilot Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Maybe you can help me, but what exactly is missing from Normal setting that you cant turn on/off that would be available in custom? Cheers Dakpilot
Sokol1 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Seems that is tunning down the physics, add unlimited fuel, ammo, etc. that things that make the game easy playable for.... "causal gamers". Probable this go against the unlock idea...

All white boxes unchecked - "Normal" - EXPx1, advance the campaign All white and green boxes unchecked - "Expert" - EXPx2, advance the campaign Some time after release? 3
1./JG42Nephris Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I cant follow the decision to not give the user custom settings.
Dakpilot Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Better to have the same as "custom" and be able to turn them on/off as you want in mission.., this is what we have now, and gives more options/choices than just pre defined Custom....unless people are needing aim assist...invulnerability and unlimited ammo..and simplified physics in Campaign Is that what this poll is about? Cheers Dakpilot

I'd prefer a scalable system, but this would be so easy to implement and would work just fine.
SharpeXB Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Custom difficulty was already added when they allowed CEM to be switched on or off in Normal difficulty. It's important to keep the actual difficulty levels in the game limited so multiplayer doesn't get divided up.
80dpaige Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 If i understand correctly. We have a custom settings options for difficulty that has been completely disabled? It feels too restrictive for spending as much as we have. All i want at this moment is to have unlimited ammo for practice whilst having full engine control as i look over my beautiful aircraft over and over again from any point of view as i please.
coldred Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) What is the purpose of the custom mode if you cannot choose the white options for the campaign? Why limit the choice of the option when playing in SP? It is a fundamental matter for me to carry on playing IL2 or to give up. Edited October 31, 2014 by coldred

It's important to keep the actual difficulty levels in the game limited so multiplayer doesn't get divided up. I disagree completely. The host should have complete control over the settings in multiplayer, people can then choose which servers they want to fly on. Multiplayer is already very divided with only 32(?) pilots on one server so with any kinds of numbers of pilots online you're going to need a mass of servers anyway. The most important thing for the multiplayer to be successful is to gather a large enough player base to crowd many servers - and the locked settings are not helping there.
