I'll never forget what a farce this trailer was Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3. By the trailer for 2002-3 this game looks  unreal. Wait til you get it home and instal it. Compaired to old IL-2 it was terrible

WT's artists always earned the highest respect from me. This trailer is graphicly phenominal and very well executed (apart from a few colour disortions).

 

What Gaijin fails at (again) is displaying real air combat. Mybe this is intendet to better resemble their gameplay and keep the russian fraction happy as every german opposition gets beaten up and maybe it's dumb to expect sth different from Gaijin, but in a short movie with this kind of quality proper actions and a nice dogfighting scene would really have blasted me out of my chair.

 

Anyway nice one, far better than the previous.

The only thing that ever really annoys me about these trailers / films is the infantry look far too fresh faced. They look out of place, unconvincing and given all the effort they go to with the rest of it a little silly. Why on earth don't they get the actors to run around silly for two or three days before hand with no sleep and little food in between, have a few fake explosions go off nearby to put them on edge ?

You see the trailer, get enthusiastic, install WT and press 'Play'.

But hey where is the realistic environment, the impresive cloud formations, the huge explosions, the lifelike 3d animation, massive activity on the ground, the infantry?

Call me old fashioned but a trailer should represent the graphics of the game.

What I see here is just deceiving the potential customer.

Nice as a movie trailer but not for something like WT.

 Trailer gives you an impression that you will get a full fledged game, but oh the joy when you step in that pile of steaming... Like buying a Ferrari, but get a Lada instead.

A Lada can be just as exciting when it's going sideways down an Icy road in the Balkans with a drunk taxi driver at the wheel who thinks he is Nikki Lauda.........at least that is what he was shouting as we went sideways through a police check point.

Say what you will about the game mechanics; yes it is flawed beyond belief.

 

But, artistically? WT is pretty top notch. It'll probably age well in that regard.

 There is nothing exiting in a Lada, Bongo I am glad those death traps are not seen on the road these days. Even the so called "modern" Ladas are a steaming pile of manure. Only good thing in a Lada is that it is warm during winter..and when compressed as a metal scrap cube

For all those saying it's misleading and doesn't represent WT, take your prejudicial heads out of your backsides and take it for what it is, a mini movie combining CGI and real actors. Sure it promotes WT ,but not directly and you would have to be pretty dim to think that it represents the game just as you would have to be pretty thick to think that putting on Lynx deodorant makes you into a babe magnet.

Take it for what it is, nothing more, a bloomin clever mini movie which is utterly astounding, especially if you are anything like as old as I feel.

Yeah that got me too... That was arounmd the time I came to IL2 and haven't looked back.
