=LD=Hethwill Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Pre order costs from 50 to 90€ or something similar. How much is worth to pre order when in comparison with what you can do with the same amount of money ? Say like 4 - 6 months of premium account of a free to play game ? Or a nice dinner out with the lady in a cosy restaurant and a few drink at the jazz corner bar ? Perhaps a month worth of diesel ? How do you guys and ladies measure it ? Myself took 1 month without going to the cinema. And voilá, pre order done. Month has passed everything back to normal.
Jason_Williams Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 This is something each user needs to decide for themselves. It's not necessary to dwell on it as it will just lead to arguments. We give a couple different options so people can choose. Jason 1
BFsSmurfy Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I measure it against how long I`ll enjoy it for, with that equation the sim becomes a bargain, some people like beer and 90 dollars buys you 2 or 3 monster sessions but what do you have to show for it....makes the money spent on a game a good buy for me. Each to his/her own, moneys tight for a lot of people so judging what`s value for money might be best done with half an eye on other peoples feelings/situations.
76SQN-FatherTed Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I know this isn't what the OP was getting at, but he did specifically talk about the pre-order, so my answer is too much. I'm not pre-ordering. This is because I've been stung a few times over the last few years with games. In no way does this mean that I won't buy BoS - just that I'll wait until it's released in full and I've read some reviews. I'm sorry, but there it is. This is no reflection on 777/1C - I've just decided that this will be my policy for ALL games. As to the worth of the game, then, yes, equate it to the cost of other forms of entertainment and I'm sure £/hour it will be fantastic value.
6./ZG26_Emil Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 He he a months worth of diesel? I want you car :D I have a V8 and it costs me £120 a tank and only get about 300 miles for that :D
Heywooood Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) dinosaur bones lol we're like the Flintstones burning dinosaur bone juice to drive our cars, heat our homes etc... or worse - we make a toxic, radioactive waste that remains lethal to all life forms for 10,000 years and call it "clean energy" - we are not sane when you stop to consider the reality of what we do why we are not using solar, wind and wave-hydraulics, telluric current tech for our energy needs is a crime - Tesla - beyond genius Edited August 28, 2013 by Heywooood
Original_Uwe Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 It's about 300 rounds of 7.62x39, so I cut that much out of my monthly stockpiling. 1
J4SCrisZeri Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 That's two weeks without weed (just an example)
leitmotiv Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 i say goodbye to my diapers for a six months, will be a messy half a year
6./ZG26_Emil Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 That's two weeks without weed (just an example) and what price can you put on the extra brain cells that will survive in that period :D
FuriousMeow Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 (edited) Nothing, since it doesn't kill brain cells. In my case it's a single night out (actually cheaper than a single night out) - beer is up to $6 a bottle where I live and mixed drinks around up to $12 plus appetizers. Tone71 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 £800 - Computer, £250 - Recent graphics card upgrade, £250 - Monitor, £100 - Second monitor, £150 - TrackIR, £120 - Saitek HOTAS... I didn't feel I had to justify it, I just went right ahead and clicked that Premium Pre-order button!
Uufflakke Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 No need to give up other things for a certain period. The game itself pays back. Instead of spending money on drinks, going out 'cause you feel bored at home, driving around in your car, buying books or magazines etc. you spend your free time in your virtual cockpit. 1
Freycinet Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I am pretty sure the sim will save me money, compared to the expenses of other things I would have done instead.
Bearcat Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I was going to pre order anyway regardless so for me not pre ordering was just not even an option. The difference between ordering Gold or Standard.. ? Lless than two hours of OT.. a no brainer. I can pull that just doing the right thing late in the day.
