FlatSpinMan Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Have you tried playing Rise of Flight? You can download the base game for free. It's less demanding than BoS but in the same ballpark, I think. It uses an earlier iteration of the game engine. BoS does run on a pretty wide range of machines though. Mine is at the low end. I'd question your graphics card though as it sounds like an inboard one. Don't worry about running the game on lower settings btw. It still looks really good, especially the aircraft. Clouds get a bit blocky onLow though. If you look in this forum you'll see a thread by me showing how it looks. It's called "For the Rodina. Campaign AAR".
BeastyBaiter Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Your CPU and ram are fine, however I don't think there is any hope of that graphics card of actually running BoS or any other game beyond solitaire. I'm running an old Radeon 6850 atm, which should be considered the absolute minimum tbh.
[KWN]T-oddball Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 My specs are: Intel Core i5-4440 CPU 3.10 GHz 8.00 GB 64-bit Operating system Intel HD Graphics 4600 Boy, I hope so. EDIT: I don't HAVE to be in HD high graphics. Windows® XP (SP2) / Vista (SP1) / Windows® 7 (SP1) / Windows® 8 CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Quad 2.6 GHz+ or Intel® Core™ i5/i7 2.6 GHz+ GPU: 1024 Mb+, GeForce GTX 260+/Radeon HD5850+ RAM: 4 Gb+ Sound: DirectX 9.0c/11 compatible Free Hard Drive space: 10 Gb+ the 4600 is where you will run into trouble, keep the resolution low and the presets low, check your FPS and then start raising the rez and video settingstill the FPS is unplayable then back it down.
=SqSq=Sulaco Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 As FlatSpinMan said, try downloading Rise of Flight (there's a free option), this runs on a modified version of the same engine. If you can run that you should be able to run this. Good luck, hope to see you in the sky!
Livai Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Intel HD Graphics 4600 At this graphic you could run RoF maybe with a more better graphic than you see at this video but download the free demo to test it to be 100% sure. http://youtu.be/OkVL6b6DdzA I am not sure if use this PC/Notebook/Nuc for HTPC experience? If for HTPC a AMD APU Quadcore is a better choice. Has a better and faster graphiccard inside the CPU than Intel. I am running BoS with a APU.
Potenz Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 intel onboard card, is a no for gaming get a video card, nvidia if you can, and with more than 2gb
Cyrax_12 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Got a question. I was running the game on a 32 bit version of windows 8, then i installed a 64 bit version and for some reason now when i go to launch from launcher, the game immediatly crashes and windows looks for a solution. anyone have any suggestions? I purchased the game from a 32 bit operating system, would that have anything to do with it? I also checked administrator permissions and they are checked to allow Specs gtx 470 8 gig RAM Dual Core Processor both running at 3.36
T-800 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) I'm about to pick up Il2 BoS in a few days and I'd like to make sure my PC can run it. AMD Phenom II Quad-core clocked at 4.1GHz 8Gb DDR3 RAM clocked at 1333Mhz AMD HD6770 1Gb DDR5 I know I'm not going to get the best performance with these specs but if I can run it at a reasonable frame rate I'd be happy. Thanks. Edited October 14, 2014 by T-800
