HeavyCavalrySgt Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Hello all, I am trying to decide if I am going to pre-order IL2 or not. I like the list of planes available, but I haven't seen anything concrete about campaigns. Some of my favorite flights sims have allowed players to manage aspects of the squadron like supply and repair, personnel, etc over the scope of linked missions, sometimes influencing the situation on the ground (thinking of Falcon). I really like the the thought of stopping Stukas before they reach their target, but paying some sort of price for failure or reducing the numbers of Stukas available for the enemy to use against me until they are replaced, or creating brain drain by removing experienced air crews from the problem. CLOD really bothered me with its linear campaigns and pass/fail missions.
6./ZG26_Emil Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I guess if you play ROF you will get a good idea what the campaigns are like.
HagarTheHorrible Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) I think, if you use RoF, as a basis for your expectations, you won't be far off the mark. What he, above, said. Edited August 28, 2013 by HagarTheHorrible
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 well, that is perfectly acceptable, even though it is still in beta. Thanks guys.
LordNeuro*Srb* Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Well i think if u have the money then preorder it, like all says rof is gr8 , and bos is looking good, so i would defenetly preorder it.
vyyye Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 It'd be smarter to wait for the early access and see what people think when they've actually played it. But yeah, from the sounds of it it'll be like RoF campaign wise but with a few extra things. Can't actually recall the extra things, but it's in the dev diaries.
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 It turns out I got a bonus at work today, so I pulled the IL2 trigger. 2

Spag Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hello Everybody, First post here so just testing really. I just watched the Bf109 film. Pretty damn good. The 109 has been a favourite of mine since I was a small child, a long time ago. That update film may just have convinced me to buy a pre-order. Cheers, Spag.:-) 1
Heywooood Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 go ahead - if you're a fan of flying, you cant go wrong - this will be the best for a long while to come...depend on it.
71st_AH_Hooves Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Very cool. I just had two friends pre order as well simply because they play RoF. Its kinda neat to be comfortable supporting a new project because a previous product was good, and not because one is hoping the next product Is better because the last one sucked. Makes parting with hard earned cash much more comfortable. Hope to see you in the premium skies! Edited September 2, 2013 by Hooves 1
