CIA_Yankee_ Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Salutations. I've got a question for campaign players: how do you get the landing to count anyway? So far I've flown 4 or 5 missions, full length, take-off to landing, and so far only 1 of them has awarded me any XP for landing (namely an emergency landing, which gave me 50% XP). We ARE supposed to get an XP "card" in the debrief screen for landing, right? I would assume so, since there's one for take off. Either way, aside from that one emergency landing I've never gotten one. I land, taxi, shut down, and then end the mission. Should I be doing something else, such as taxiing to the end of the runway, or waiting for my whole flight to land, or some such? Thank you. Itkovian
indiaciki Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) Landing gives 30xp in normal mode as does TO (or 15). mission success is 60 xp Crash landings or bail outs reduce your xp by 50%. You get 50% of 60 mission xp = 30xp for you mission if bailed out or had emergency landing. you don't have to wait after landing if "successfull landing" appeared on screen. But in the debrief, do you get a "Landed" card at the end, similar to the "took off" one? Because right now I haven't seen it, despite landing multiple times at the end of missions. I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong, somehow, like I need to come to a stop where the blue landing marker is, or some such?
J2_Trupobaw Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I think you need to taxi to end of runway to make a landing "count". Try turning autopilot on once you landed, it should taxi you where you need to go. (Didn't try it myself).
BraveSirRobin Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I think you need to taxi to end of runway to make a landing "count". You don't. I think you just have to come to a complete stop. The only time my landing has not counted is when I exited while still rolling slowly.
Jaegermeister Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) If your plane is damaged during the mission, I believe you don't get landing credit. I have gotten landing credit a few times without taxiing to the end of the runway. Just landing and shutting down does it if everything else is OK Edited October 9, 2014 by Jaegermeister

Just landing and shutting down does it if everything else is OK Which is odd - you would have thought that landing a damaged plane would get you extra. 1
CIA_Yankee_ Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Strange, I'm pretty sure I've landed and stopped an undamaged plane at least twice, and never got credited for the landing. Very strange.
CIA_Yankee_ Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 There's definitely something strange. So far I haven't gotten any landings to register and grant XP. Once time I even went and taxied right to the blue marker at the end of the runway and shut down there. That was AFTER I taxied to where all the aircraft shelters are and shut down. Can we know what conditions must be met for a landing to be registered?
JG4_Greif Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I had to taxi the stuka to a parking place. See here at the end of the mission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvPfoE-AM4I
CIA_Yankee_ Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Landing XP is broken right now. I had to taxi the stuka to a parking place. See here at the end of the mission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvPfoE-AM4I Good to know, on both counts. That said, Greif, I saw that you never came to a full stop until you got in the shelter. Others have said you just need to get to a full stop to get credited for the landing. But I'll try taxiing to a shelter tonight, and see what happens. Thank you. Itkovian
BraveSirRobin Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Make sure your aircraft is not moving at all when you exit. I would not go to the shelter. I never go to the shelter and I get credit every time I land (except the 1 time I was still moving when I exited).
IIN8II Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 for me I just come to a complete stop and I get a notification that I have completed the landing, then I exit.
PB0_Foxy Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Strange, I'm pretty sure I've landed and stopped an undamaged plane at least twice, and never got credited for the landing. Very strange. Are you sure that you've landed on the good airfield ?? You should hear the control giving you a clearance if it's the good one
CIA_Yankee_ Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Are you sure that you've landed on the good airfield ?? You should hear the control giving you a clearance if it's the good one Positive. I even see the blue "land here" marker on the ground. And I get clearance, yes. And my wingment land there too. And I'm _always_ coming to a full stop. _Always_.Full stop and shutting down. But so far I've never gotten confirmation that I landed, except the one time I did an emergency landing, where the game exited automatically. But otherwise, I land properly (no ground looping! Yay!), taxi, stop, shut down. I get no message about having landed, and when I finish the mission I don't get any landing XP. Hopefully it's just a bug, and it'll be fixed soon.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 just flew on expert completed the mission (even though I didnt shoot anything down), managed to navigate back to the correct base (not through the return waypoint thou), the blue icon came up on the map to land (toggled I to make sure it was the correct base) It gave my wing man permission to land and never gave it to me, landed, didnt even register that in game, as a result I had to cancel mission and I got zero points, Im pretty pissed off about that
LLv24_Zami Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I have had landing points by taxiing to parking place and stop.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 It didnt even give me any and wasnt hit and it was a good landing, could only cancel flight
SharpeXB Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I stopped on the runway and my AI wingman crashed into me and killed me!
