Can you help me clear this up?

Hello, I'm aletto,

some of you may already know me from WT, a game I've finally given up for various reasons. I've been looking for alternatives for ages, but there was always something that kept me from moving on. 46 seems to be a bit outdated, Cliffs of Dover runs like a pig on my system, DCS features amazing detail and flight models but it lacks a proper WW2 setting and there's few people playing MP. BoS seems to be the best package overall, but still there are issues keeping me from getting it.

 

1) The price tag. I'm hoping there will be a sale on Christmas but right now it's simply not affordable for me. I'm poor and a high school student so don't judge me. If I had money I'd buy a better computer and Track IR and the next two points would be irrelevant:

 

2) My PC is a potato (i5 750, GTX 260). Thankfully, RoF runs okay-ish on my system so I'm assuming BoS would be the same. Nevertheless, I've read that custom graphics settings were removed. Can someone with a similar set up tell me if it's still playable?

 

3) I depend on mouselook to look around. I've mapped head movement (up down, left right) to my hat switch so I've got a 4 DoF cockpit. The left mouse button resets the head position, the right mouse button centres the camera on the gunsight. It isn't a perfect set up, but it works both in WT and DCS and I need to know if this is possible in BoS too.

 

I know you can't help me with the first one, but I'm hoping someone could clear up 2) and 3)

The vid settings in BoS are not very adjustable at this time, at least not by the standards of RoF but you can probably run it on you system.

 

The controls on the other hand are very configurable so you should be good to go.

Welcome alletto. Here are the minimum system requirements for Bos and it looks like your system makes the grade, but barely.  I think you should be able to use your current method to look around.
