taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Has anyone been playing "Destiny" and is it living up to all the publicity and cost, I understand that the PC version is to be released later!! Cheers. PS is it a first person shooter.
kestrel79 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I play on ps4. It's fun to play with friends, but I was hoping for more of a storyline and single player. Living up the hype? I would say no. Glad I got it used.
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 S! Still it sold enough to make profit within days Might try it on PS4 at some point.
FlatSpinMan Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I heard in this game that you have to start at the beginning with only the weapons you are given. No way I'm paying for a game that restricts my choices so much. 2
oneeyeddog Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Two of my sons (30 and 24 yrs old) seem to enjoy it very much and they and their friends spend a lot of their leisure time playing Destiny on the Xbox 1. I'm told " the story is sh*t, its repetitive, buts its a lot of fun " . So all in all, well worth the $60 considering the hours of enjoyment per dollar.
SOLIDKREATE Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 It's a game that make you repeat the same missions on every single map. There is no depth to it. You can only play multi-player when you reach level 8 but everyone on the servers has finished the campaign and they are all level 30 maxed with legendary weapons. I have no idea why that have different jump ships? I can't believe for $500,000,000.00 USD this is what we get. HALO didn't cost nearly that much and it was way better of a story and game play.
Cybermat47 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I'm certainly interested in it, seeing as it comes from the original makers of Halo.
FuriousMeow Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I read reviews on it, not that I can play it anyway since the only consoles I have are the N64 and Dreamcast, but it appears that there was a lot built into it that was axed out. Still lingering connections to that axed content that is rumored to now becoming DLC later on down the road. Basically it is one of those typically hyped games that spends tons on marketing because it is a soulless XP driven grind platform with flat mission design and a lot of content intended for it was cut out last minute because it wouldn't be fully developed to make it by release. This was from one of the developers that I read a lot was gutted from it. Most games I've found these days that are above and beyond enjoyable don't have any marketing, never make it to a TV channel or a Gamestop plug, because the investment went into the game itself and not some shoddy marketing team or firm.
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 S! Indie games have given more fun lately than the high bidget AAA titles. Go figure. 1
