Mastermariner Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/download-windows-10-technical-preview.html Anyone dared to try it? Master
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 S! Using it. BoS works, Mechwarrior Online works and all my hardware works. Sure has some quirks here and there ,but again it works. Gonna keep it.
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 What happen to windows 9? Did we bypass this? Chief
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 S! They skipped it, maybe this article sheds some light on the issue: http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2014/09/30/announcing-windows-10/

-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Whats the gaming performance compared to Win7 64bit? How is with drivers (LAN, MOBO, sound etc)? Great question that I doubt will be answered till after it's (what ever version it is) release. For some reason their beta testers aren't exactly moved by gamers in their assessments. Chief
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 S! MWO gives me 75-121fps on HIGH settings with Motion Blur: OFF and Post Processing: LOW. This at fullscreen, VSync on and 1920x1080. Hardware seems to work just fine with Windows 8.1 64-bit drivers, no exlamation marks or conflicts. Boot is fast, Windows 7 was slower and a lot. So far "Win X" has been a nice experience performance wise.
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) But Windows 8 had it's problems correct? Till 8.1 came out. I'm a Windows junky and 8 is the first one I haven't had. Chief Edited October 3, 2014 by -NW-ChiefRedCloud
LLv34_Flanker Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 S! 8.1 is OK despite the slack it gets. Resistance to anything new I guess. 8.1 was maybe picky on drivers, but I had only one such occasion: Realtek onboard sound. With a separate sound card the problem went away.
