=LD=Hethwill Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 It is indeed a very much wished for app. I guess it will be coded for BoS after release but by the community, not the devs. Guess waiting time will not be over for a while. mind you - want does not equal wish or interest in It is not about the use of english but about how you get interpreted, especially with a very blunt phrase like that.
Roast Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I must admit that in IL-2 46 I managed just fine, glancing every now and then at the instruments, but since we live in an age of iPads anyway, it could be an interesting good idea Only as an option though
Dakpilot Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) The idea is great, but really needs to have a way of limiting it's use online, to be able to have custom made instrument panels in permanent view with warning lights for temps etc. Kind of defeats the point of max realism servers, in other titles where this is possible you can even use the software to have it as a hud on your monitor in expert settings...For simpits and offline it is great but has other drawbacks if its use is unlimitedCheers Dakpilot Edited October 1, 2014 by Dakpilot
AndyJWest Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) Don't forget Android Exactly. Though what would be preferable would be a generalised means of getting data out of the application, and control input in, as DeviceLink did for the original IL-2 series. That way, we aren't tied to any particular external device or operating system, and can use touchscreen technology etc for input. Actually, the 'control input in' part isn't entirely essential - there is 'virtual joystick' software available which can do the job at a pinch - so all we'd absolutely need is a means to extract instrument data etc from the game. As with Il-2 '46, it might be necessary to limit what is available online, to prevent cheating (or at least have a server option to limit data) Edited October 1, 2014 by AndyJWest

May also help balance when oculus rift come out.
