SCG_Neun Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) I wanted to leave a link which includes a video of the two pilots from this story, A Higher Call. It truly falls under the personalities section of our forum with a closer look at the men who flew on both sides, but specifically the Luftwaffe.. If you read the book you will not be sorry. It's on my top 5 now, and I rate it as the "Forgotten Soldier" of the Air War. I reposted it, because my previous post had a heading which was not correct.....Of interest to me was Franz Stigler, the pilot in this video was the flight instructor for Barkhorn, who really wasn't that good of a pilot. Stigler signed off for him anyway, and the rest is history. Stigler himself went on to fly for the famous JV44 group with Galland and the gang....Experten.... http://iflyblog.com/2012/12/25/a-christmas-story-from-wwii/ Edited August 22, 2013 by 9./JG54JagdNeun 1
II./JG27_Rich Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I first heard about this in the 90s Neun. CHBC or BCTV did a feature news - short on the two of them. I still have the VHS tape and I'm going to get it put on a disk.
