better labeling on the controls...

i was trying to set up controls and notice you have a lot of the controls with the same name for different planes and it's very confusing to have to set something go in game to see f it worked just to find nothing happens....if it's for a certain plane label it that way. one says oil shutters and it really is water shutters. wayyyyy too confusing for the casual player to even grasp and very much just makes me get pissed and turn it off.

Oil and water radiators are two different things. If you're a casual player just use normal difficulty setting and the radiator will function automatically as will the propeller pitch.

It still wouldn´t hurt to have different settings or at least different sections for the individual planes.

Not sure that I see the advantage in mappings controls to each plane individual. That seems like a lot of extra work when setting up the controls for the first time.

It wouldn´t be about mapping all controls seperately.

If they are the same like pitch, aileron, yaw etc. it wouldn´t matter - but there are specific controls for specific aircrafts and therefore it would be nice to see which controls belong to which plane..

Just would make mapping controls a little bit more comfortable in my opinion.

I agree. Being able to save control defaults for each model would be a big improvement.

That being said, and given the generalist system we have, better is to know the bird and which systems are used, that applies to engine management, trim etc.

As Loft said in some conference, documentary game. You get to learn while you play, and then you start researching a bit, etc.

what i was getting at is that some are mislabeled and some are for the same thing but for a different plane... i.e. if i set my prop pitch to one thing it doesn't work for the other...i'm just saying if they took time to label it right it would make tons of difference...

that is the point...one of the controls says oil rad. shutters but it works tha water rad. on one of the 109's

I understand what you saying.

And what if a control has no effect on a model, like prop pitch ?

As it is now we assign it, for sure, but it will only work if the bird actually had it, unlike the automated models that had it auto engineered in.

Developer request: controller filter by plane

it would be useful if controls could be filtered by plane, ie. Use a dropdown to choose which plane and have non-mapped controls hidden eg extra engines for single engine craft, cowling flaps on non la5 etc. Duplicate controller icons could be hidden or less prominent for non relevant controllers when filtered for a single plane. (Eg if using the same inputs for trim on Russian craft and stabiliser on German craft, or to reuse la5 cowling flap controller inputs to operate a different controller on another craft.)

Benefits: Easier/quicker to map controllers. Avoid confusion over similarly named controls. Make it easier to use same buttons/axes to operate different controls on different planes. Also educational in that we can see which controls are unique to which planes.

+1, great idea.  Practical and educational at the same time.
