So out of the blue I lost ALL sound on my system. There are no device conflicts and all the latest drivers are installed for my OS, Windows 8.1 64-bit. Troubleshooter sees no problems and I can see something happening when testing sound devices, but hear no sound from my headphones at all. And it seems this is a pretty common issue too. Can't play or listen to music or watch videos as I have no sounds whatsoever :( Anyone else had this and fixed it? Would be much appreciated if anyone had a solution. I ran out of them, done everything I could find using Google..Sigh :(

I have tried everything Microsoft has suggested, browsed countless forums and everything between. No solution as of yet. Some have just disabled onboard sound and installed either an USB sound card or a separate one, like Creative or Asus. Maybe should get a good soundcard instead..

I just delete all sound devices from device manager and choose rescan. It is working again now :)

Did not help me. Getting a separate sound card. Tired of battling with onboard sound.

My card is external one (SB X-Fi). I'm glad i helped myself - i hate the frustration witch it made.
