KnowYourEnemy Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Hello guys! I'm new in the forum and in the IL2 world. I have downloaded and installed the game in one pc and then moved to another one because i don't have a fast internet connection at home. Everything fine since the last update came. I have installed it on the first pc and than i have pasted and copied the "updates" folder to my other pc but the luncher still asking me to update the game. Can someone help me? Sorry for my bad english Thanks! Federico
Dakpilot Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Rather just copy paste the whole game install Cheers Dakpilot
KnowYourEnemy Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Hi Dakpilot!Do you mean the whole game folder?
Dakpilot Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Yep, the whole folder, I keep two instances of BoS installed one with SweetFX and one Vanilla in case one goes wrong after an update. Just make a folder example; (C:)/Games/ BOS/ IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad (C:)Games/ BOSSWFX/ IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad After updating on the "fast internet machine" check it starts then just copy the whole thing to your home machine, so long as you only try to log in to one at a time should be no issue, keep any install out of "Program Files" to avoid any permission issues that windows 7 and up can cause Cheers Dakpilot
KnowYourEnemy Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Ok i will try later, but there are few things that i don't get it.I should make 2 copies of the game?I have copied the whole game folder into C:Programs/Is it wrong? And what does it mean " keep any install out of "Program Files" "?Sorry for my low understanding but my english is not so good
Dakpilot Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) No need to make two copies was only using as an example that it is possible to simply copy paste entire game. It is not wrong to have it installed in default (c;) Program Files However Win 7 and above like to make things hard for programs that changes get made to when installed there, this is intentional and useful for security, for most programs this is a good thing, however, for games it can make certain files read only which can effect settings and controls to not "stick" so for games "program Files" is not the "ideal" place create another folder in c;/ or any other drive and cut/copypaste or install there Cheers Dakpilot Edited September 27, 2014 by Dakpilot
