A_S Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Little preface to this video: Probably two weeks ago the same opponent would have most likely killed me easily in a dogfight. I have been watching others fly on the duell server and came accross some really "strong" displays of performances with the Bf-109F4, wondering how they might perform their aircrafts like that. BFM wise there was nothing foreign or unexplainable to me in those tracks, but i was amazed how they sometimes out-competed their bandits in the verticals or how they were able to turn so nicely in the 1vs1 fights i was watching. So i sat down and gave that question a thought while studying the Bf-109F4 in more details - as least in terms of how it is simulated. The conclusion follows below as description and a video: This is an example of how to push the machine and thus the fight to its limits. Keynotes of this demonstration are:- the proper timing and deflection of FLAPS in specific regimes- the utilization of manual pitch control in order to get maximum performances in certain situations and how to command stalls by doing so without "over-cooking" the engine (ATA)- the beneficial usage of stabilizator-trim in certain combat regimes to sustain lower-drag turns or to gain instantanious momentum in turns (remember the design of stabilizators and elevators on a Bf-109F4 in terms of airflows at deflections)What i do when and how is not commented in the video, therefore i recommend watching the video very carefully , or to "listen" to the engine and "feel" the plane while watching.Enjoy (watch in 1080p please) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_8auBdjc1A&feature=youtu.be 2

A_S Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Now is see why technochat would be useful. Good video. Took me a while to understand what "technochat" is (lol). I hide those ("H") and simply look on the instruments or "listen" to the RPM pitch sound.

Yea like all AS- es do , but for me to take some lessons would be nice to see % of flaps, stabilizer, rpm etc. with technochat. Btw Yours head movement and look restricts view of instruments and video compression reduce quality of video. I think track recording will help Thanks for sharing.
