Hi,

we (or better the Devs) are near final version  :clapping: , but still exists this annoying "AA bug", when the object is on fire, smoke or clouds (as background like it is on this picture). It will be solved in the final version? Or maybe any good idea how to fight with this.

I know, this subject was taken many times but still no "holy grall" for this.

Jagged airplane contours in foreground of clouds is already discussed over at the early access forum. It is indeed a very annoying bug and it can be noticed even from the cockpit. There is also an "issue" with blurry/low texture clouds at the distance when looking from "the "super zoom" view.

nothing is final here, being close to release date, does not means that are final versions of things, as if you owns RoF from the very begging you will know that thing will be improved with time

hmmm...  I don't see any thing wrong.  Here's a photo of a 109 in a museum with a similar effect.  Is it just something the Germans did with their planes?

War Thunder has the same issue with the AA around clouds, I wonder what it its.

It's something to do with how the frame is drawn with the AA and the effects that they use for the clouds in behind an object. Probably they both use a similar technique and have a similar issue. I've seen it in War Thunder as well as Battle of Stalingrad and I'm willing to bet there are other game engines out there with similar issues. But not all of them have it. Never seen anything like that with Battlefield 4 (or 3 - despite both games having their share of graphical and other issues).

I was going to ask about this issue too so I'm glad it's been brought up again. It was acceptable as a beta graphical issue but I'd like to see it solved.

My biggest question is... does everyone have this problem?

Nope - never encountered this.

I have this with a Nvidia 460....I hope to be upgrading to a new PC soon with a Nvidia 760...but I don't believe this issue is restricted to just older video cards.

Don't you dare.

GTX 970 - trust me. For that little bit of difference in price the performance gain is huge.

I'll be dropping a 970 in my rig in the next few weeks.

No, not only "old" graphics cards, the new one too.

Yes it would be a very good thing for those who are able to eliminate this effect to post a screen shot, and their game and NCP/Nvidia Inspector settings or other non in game graphic adjustments.

As well as helping the masses to get a better looking game it would help to de-bug this issue if it is indeed possible to get rid of it :)

I have the 760 card and it does the same.

I'm fairly sure they do, as it seems to be a current limitation of the engine.

I reckon those that don't see the issue just don't notice it.

Otherwise we'd all be interested to see screenshots of planes in front of cloud or smoke without this effect.

Agreed!

Let's see a photo of not having the problem (maybe its happening on a lesser scale?) and then lets see about some of your anti-aliasing settings on your card.

Hello, Any news about this? It will be solved in the final version?

Perhaps on nVidia is ok (dont know), but it concerns all users of Radeon.

Easiest to spot if a plane is a bit away from your plane against a cloud. Really ugly effect making the plane in view flickering.

Hi again, Id like to back to this topic,

I know, it was many topics about this but it will be solved in Battle of Moscow?

Or any ideas how to fix it for better antyaliasing in BoS now?

Antialiasing - transparency off:= turn Multisampling off:

the other thing that looks like the problem is, overlays there making the AA look real bad.

If you have Nvidia, running a bit of DSR helps a lot with this issue

It looks like IL-2 BoS is optimalized better for NVidia, not for Radeons? :(

Posted

Yoyo:  this may be a bit dated but I know a couple of years ago radeon would not acknowledge 777's existence. If I remember correctly it was driving Jason and those of us with Radeon cards crazy.  Nvidea on the other hand worked with the team.  When I upgraded my rig last year I was sure to make the switch to nvidea.

I think it would be truer to say that Nvidia is better optimised for BoS  ;) , for many AAA titles AMD/Radeon have good drivers, but for some reason they (AMD) do not seem to take much notice of sims, be they Race/Auto or Aviation..

Mastiff, sorry for asking, but I'm not sure what I'm seeing. Your saying turning off transparency aa will get rid of jaggies in front of clouds? Because I did so and it's still there at Certain times.

well I haven't seen them, and I have to turn off Steam overlay, because it causes you to see through the clouds when you hit the horizon.

Will check again but it might only work for Steam version, which I don't have. Thanks.

Hi.

My Antyaliasing is back after the last update (Turning off HDR) and no this awful noise (according me)! Thx a LOT!
