CisTer-dB- Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 HI Static I am new with AMD can you tell me more about Radeon Pro?
CisTer-dB- Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I mean is it worth it, does it improve the graphic, how about the performance?
Static Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) HI Static I am new with AMD can you tell me more about Radeon Pro? It is a program that lets you create game profiles with specific graphic settings using FXAA Injector SMAA Injector, Dynamic Vsync and much more for each game you have, links below. Radeon Pro download http://www.radeonpro.info/2013/04/download-radeonpro-preview-1-1-1-0-13apr2013-with-improved-overdrive-and-sweetfx-1-4-support/ Official site http://www.radeonpro.info/en-US/ For news on lastest beta release visit http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4496080 I mean is it worth it, does it improve the graphic, how about the performance? So far I have notice an improvment on my end with my crossfire setup using custom settings using Radeon Pro. I will try and post some benchmark results using FRAPS with the BoS settings vs the Radeon Pro settings. Edited September 24, 2014 by Static
CisTer-dB- Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 You have manage to get both gpu working with BoS with it?
Static Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) You have manage to get both gpu working with BoS with it? Yes and from what I have tested if you want vsync to work efficiently with crossfire you need to set a FPS limiter to your monitors refresh rate. I use Afterburner's RSS application to set my FPS limit to 100 fps @ 100Hz/ 2560x1440 since BoS does not offer a 100 fps cap option (shame on them, lol). I have found using the Radeon Pro vsync settings do not work if you set them within Windows 8.1, they might work with other versions of Windows? I am using a recording I made of the AI flying in a QM with 4x4 vs 4x4 aircraft with clouds at high altitude to bench mark. I also just noticed you can configure RP to benchmark, so I can ditch Fraps now. The recording at the end gets epic while the 109 F4 goes at 4 PEs with a wingman behind him, they pound one of the PEs as the PE & 109 demolish each other, the 109 AI pilot bails in flames. Nice sounds of gun fire and the canopy being hit. (Does sound like thin glass shattering though) These sets render the best visual quality opposed to using the graphic options in BoS. The BoS graphic options seem to do nothing but degrade performance when using their simple, generic ready for console port graphical settings. Teehee! 2014-09-25 03:39:13 - Il-2: 2x EQ SMAA ULTRA/ 2560x1440 @ 100Hz vysnc capped @ 100fps. Frames: 17514 - Time: 196468ms - Avg: 89.144 - Min: 37 - Max: 101 Benchmarks between MSLAA, FXAA & SMAA: 2014-09-25 00:16:02 - Il-2 2x EQ MSLAA Frames: 17561 - Time: 197875ms - Avg: 88.748 - Min: 38 - Max: 101 2014-09-25 00:24:46 - Il-2 2x EQ FXAA HIGH Frames: 17282 - Time: 196360ms - Avg: 88.012 - Min: 37 - Max: 101 *2014-09-25 03:39:13 - Il-2 2x EQ SMAA ULTRA Frames: 17514 - Time: 196468ms - Avg: 89.144 - Min: 37 - Max: 101 The actual visual quality and performance to me feels and looks more crisp compared to using the limited BoS graphic settings vs setting my own triggers within the Radeon Pro software. It has help me obtain better Crossfire usage from both of my GPUs when using the Lost Planet Extreme Condition DX 9.0 setting & leaving the Crossfire rendering to the driver default. After the shareholders get their cut and BoS is a hit we can get DX10/11/12 BoS, woohoo! Out of the WW2 combat flights sims available I prefer to fly IL2 BoS even though I have CloD & DCS installed. I am thinking of getting the beta version of Elite & Dangerous? Anyone else have any experience flying in space with Elite & Dangerous? From the videos I have seen it looks more physically computer accurate than Star Citizen, that I have tested a bit. S! Edited September 26, 2014 by Static
Static Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 Edit: MSI Afterburner's RTSS aka RivaTuner application not RSS, I knew it had Ts & Ss, lol.
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 S! How I got CrossFire to work was quite straightforward. Enabled CFX, ticked Use CFX on all applications and used Default profile with Frame Pacing On. In IL-2 launcher ticked Multi-GPU as in game you can not do it for some reason. Seems to work.
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 S! My settings for CrossFire and BoS, using latest OpenCL 2.0 drivers that can be found here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/OpenCL2-Driver.aspx
CisTer-dB- Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I found the problem I have to select full screen to enable the second card
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 S! CrossFire only works in fullscreen. Quite a smooth experience in BoS
