6./ZG26_5tuka Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 It's great to see her flying again, congratulations to all the brave workers who spend all those hours getting it back on track! It's amazing what restorers are able to do with money and ethusiasm Hope to see her flying in 3D one day and hearing this monsterous DB605. This is the amazing expirience I'm looking forward to

This is the amazing expirience I'm looking forward to I was able to see it fly a few years back at the Airpower 2005 airshow in Austria. Great-sounding plane, for sure.

II./JG27_Rich Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Sweepstakes on how long it is before it's lying in another field? Odd enough the crash was pilot error. Like all fuel lines the 109's is in the bottom of the take the pilot flew up side down for more than ten seconds thus totally draining the line of fuel. Edited September 26, 2014 by II./JG27_Rich
Sokol1 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 And Rote 7 is "down" again... http://www.donaukurier.de/lokales/polizei/ingolstadt/Ingolstadt-Manching-DKmobil-dkonline_PMG-0815-Flugunfall-mit-historischem-Jagdflugzeug;art64745,3260124 1
Feathered_IV Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Again? Man, That's a real hard luck aircraft. On a side note though, look how uneven and manky that grassed area appears. Not to mention the length of the grass itself. It would probably feel very much like the unprepared areas on BoS airfields. Certainly puts things in perspective.
