steppenwolf Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Hi Devs. I know it's early in the game, but I wanted to make a request for an FPS counter in the next BOS Live Stream. It would be great to see hard numbers and to be able to chart progress of the games development. Thanks in advanced. 1
Finkeren Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Good idea. We promise, we won't judge based om it. We know it's alpha. Most lilley we will all be pleasantly surprised. The video from the first livestream locked really smooth.
Zak Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 If it's not under NDA or smth, I'll turn the FPS counter on next time. Speaking of the previous stream - it was 60 and the broadcast was 60 as well. 1
steppenwolf Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 That is awesome! I didn't expect a reply.
vyyye Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Would be nice to know the hardware it's running on as well then, FPS counter isn't too meaningful otherwise.

You're right, it'll show us if it's consistent at all if anything. Even the best rigs will dip if the game is prone to it, so there's that. Still, specs would be nice.
Zak Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Here are the specs of the PC that ran our game and the live stream last Wednesday. Game settings were max out. Windows 7 Prof 64-bit Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 16GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 4GB This info does not mean anything about game's performance after release: on the one hand FX will be added, on the other hand not all neccessary optimization has been implemented.

It is probably 660Ti 2GB as Ti version with 4GB doesnt exist... I have i7 on 3.5 Ghz, 8 GB RAM and GTX 660 Ti 2GB and ROF runs perfect on max settings (post effects OFF)....That is on 1920x1200 on stock map... Therefore BOS should just rine fine on it i suppose... Edited August 22, 2013 by Tvrdi
steppenwolf Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 I7-2600K 3.4 GTX 660 Ti 2Gb 8Gb RAM TrackIR 5 Runs ROF 60fps in most instances(solo for sure), fps dips though with certain effects and some graphics settings(reflections and super sampling). Of course number of planes affects this too, but for the most part I'm happy with ROF on this setup.
reddog=11blueleader* Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Thanks so much for the info. I believe if your system can run ROF smooth you should not have any problems with BOS. Just my opinion.

Fantastic, thank you. Obviously can't judge performance of a game based on alpha, but if you were sitting at 60FPS wihle recording it would be hard to argue it's looking like anything but good.
