Soarfeat Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 The reviews of the GTX 970 look very good. Appears to use a bit less wattage than the 700 series and rivals the performance of the 780. Something to look at if the 300 dollar range for the 970's is too high is this MSI GTX 770 ( now $238 !!! ) good grief !!!! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741 Does the madness ever end --ha !!! cheers--sf
SvAF/F19_CoNa Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Just got the msi gtx 970 installed. It was pita to get nvidia suround working wih different monitors (same size and resolution though) compared with eyefinity (i have migrated from a 7970). I have not had time to benchmark it yet as triple monitor still is not supported well in BoS. I'm currently on the road, but once I'm back on sunday I will give single monitor a try. So far it has exeeded my expactations in all other sims. Cool quiet and fast...they just need to learn how to work with multiple monitors better
FatApollo72 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) I just upgraded today from a GTX 660 SC to the GTX 970 SC. Much improvement and it only uses about 50% of the card. Let me know if you need more detail OP. BTW, this is paired with an i5 2500k still at stock clocks, 8GB RAM @ 1333 Mhz. I'm getting between 50-60 FPS on high with AA on 2X. Skybro Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Well I got a 980 and at least that card eats BoS for breakfast. I guess you could compare benchmarks or something.
deleted@31403 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Yes I have a 980GTX also. Love the card.
Gambit21 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Well I got a 980 and at least that card eats BoS for breakfast. I guess you could compare benchmarks or something. Even the GTX 580 'ate BoS for breakfast', I know because I've been running one. Just upgraded to a GTX 970 (the only card to get right now IMHO), but not because of BoS.
skouras Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 ASUS gtx 770 on shandow of mordor gave me 32 fps average everything ultra on benhmark with asus gtx 970 60 fps average included vsync in game(without vsync 70 fps average and i didn't overclocked yet!!!) 1920-1080p this sim running with 970 is like running like hell on everything maxed out!!!!
Imur6 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Even though I'm using GTX 980, there is some stutter that even Gsync can't cover it I feel this some frame drop sometimes and I think this isn't issue of H/W but S/W Edited October 30, 2014 by Imur6
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I found, that is you don't cap the FPS you wont get any stuttering. if you cap it you get stuttering, that's just my observation on my machine.
sallee Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Even the GTX 580 'ate BoS for breakfast', I know because I've been running one. Just upgraded to a GTX 970 (the only card to get right now IMHO), but not because of BoS. Interesting. I was looking to do the same for BoS, CloD and RoF, really. Would you think it was not worth it?
SYN_Lt_Dan Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Even though I'm using GTX 980, there is some stutter that even Gsync can't cover it I feel this some frame drop sometimes and I think this isn't issue of H/W but S/W Me to seems to be the only game that makes Gsync take a dump here and there but if you watch the fps that don't drop its like some sort of load problem
