Ace_Pilto Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Hi 1C/777, I just took my first flight in your LaGG-3 and first flight ever in Il-2 BoS and I'm highly impressed. Very pretty graphics, lovely sound and a convincing feel to the game. Here are some points I noticed: + Little details like planes leaving wheel marks and crash trails in the snow, that is awesome. +The atmosphere around Stalingrad is superb (smoke, artillery etc), I found your little "flying challenge" in the middle of town, the road arch. That was fun but I chickened out of doing it inverted because the LaGG didn't want to hold it's height in that attitude. +General feel of quality in all aspects. +Performance is pretty good, I don't have a high end machine and the game plays well on "Balanced" at 1080p for me. -Motion blur, please let me switch it off. I can generate my own motion blur with beer thank you. -Needs tutorials to explain the instruments, engine startup etc a'la DCS. Especially since they are in Russian/German! On the LaGG-3 It's a lovely plane to fly but seems a little docile and forgiving to have earned the moniker "The Guaranteed Varnished Coffin", I found it to be very viceless unless I really abused the controls. Even then it gives excellent warning before having a tantrum. I had all the difficulty options enabled and it still seemed incredibly easy to fly, I wouldn't have expected that from an aircraft that had a reputation for being tricky to master. Still, it felt nice, responses were great and firing the guns was very satisfying. Landing was interesting, it didn't seem to want to lose speed but that was my fault. Anyway, I had a nice slide down the runway and the whole experience of crashing felt incredible. The best crash I've ever had in a flight sim. The scraping and breaking sounds were brilliant! So, congratulations on another quality product, $100 well spent.
SYN_Mike77 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 you can turn motion blur off. I think its in camera settings and cinematic effects

Try fighting against an experienced 109 driver and you'll see how it earned the moniker. 4

We have the Series 29 with the improved M-105PF engine producing 200hp more, not one of the early ones earning that infamous title.
Ace_Pilto Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 Nice, thanks for the tips, resources and welcome. I have so much mapping and binding to do between this, CloD, DCS and Star Citizen that I'll be spending the next year going through setup screens.

One thing that BOS has done really well is the Controls Menu (IMHO)....For example, one doesn't have to do a Separate Control Setup for every plane. Its Global. Also its very easy to see when controls are "Double Binded" with the Orange X... BOS is the easiest to setup.(no scrolling up down/left right, trying to remember which plane /which profile/which axis every time you want to fly a different plane). ~S~
