-LaFrench-Partaille Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Hi, i post here, because i have questions about my pc... My pc : 27 pouces Asus ROG Swift PG278Q 1440p/144Hz/G-sync Windows 8.1 Intel Core™ i5 750 oc@4 GHz Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus Sapphire AMD 6970 2Go GDRR5 G.Skill Kit Extreme3 4 x 2 Go PC10600 NQ G.Skill Kit Extreme3 2 x 2 Go PC10600 NQ Carte son Sonar Essence STX Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3 2* Samsung Spinpoint F3 S-ATA - 1000 Go - 32 Mo SSD Samsung 840 EVO 500 Go Silverpower SP-SS500 Lian Li Lancool DragonLord K58 Flightstick Logitech G940 Track Ir 5 I will upgrade my pc to play in 2550*1440 with high or ultra stettings (carefull, my display can afford max 144fps) Could you tell me how much fps I will have with a GTX970 or with a sli of GTX970 ? (GTX970 = GTX780) It's really important for me because I don't know about a sli or not. And by choosing a SLI, I must change my mother card, CPU, CPU cooler...... (and excuse my english, I'm just french ) Thanks
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 S! Your CPU would propably be a so called "bottleneck" with a fast SLI configuration, but you seem to got it covered Check out the 980GTX and how it works, shouldn't the reviews be out today as nVidia lifted NDA one day earlier? And with the 980GTX you do not need to upgrade anything else.
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 S! And here is a review of GTX 970/980. Seems to be a solid card. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/nvidia_geforce_gtx_970_and_980_reference_review,1.html
-LaFrench-Partaille Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Yes, I've just Bought a MSI GTX970. The GTX980 is a little bit expensive I will post here to tell you the FPS I have with this.
SYN_Lt_Dan Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Gtx 780ti was giving me about 85 120 fps with that monitor but then it died 2nd card in 4 months so sent that heap of sh@t back I've got a titan black coming tomorrow so I'll let you know how that fairs up, Oh forgot I'm running it on a 680 at the moment and its 40-55 poor things had its day
Zettman Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Is SLI working with BoS now or is it still unsupported by Nvidia? Zettman
FuriousMeow Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) Its working with the drivers released yesterday - thanks to LastRights13 for letting everyone know about the updated drivers! Edited September 19, 2014 by FuriousMeow
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) Is SLI working with BoS now or is it still unsupported by Nvidia? Zettman Yes SLI works. Edited September 19, 2014 by tomcatqw 1
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 S! Well I jumped on the CrossFire wagon as it should work on BoS Just ordered a second 290X to my system Shall see what performance I will get or just trouble
SYN_Lt_Dan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 titan black still about 30-45fps on the ground in the air 70-110fps
Matt Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Is anybody running BoS with 1440p with a 660 Ti? I'm contemplating buying a new monitor, but i guess my GPU won't handle that.
Static Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I would think you would need another 660Ti in SLi to run BoS at 2560x1440, a single 660Ti chokes at 1440p.
CaK_Rumcajs Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 There is no need for SLI to run BOS at 2560x1440. My PC: i7 4970, GTX 780 both at stock speed, ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q I'm getting 45 - 70 FPS near ground and up to 110 FPS high in the air on Ultra settings, antialiasing set to 2 (4 doesn't bring any visual improvements). So I bet SLI may be an overkill if your target res is 1440p and BOS. 2
Static Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I run 2x 290x and my fps are sad compaired to a single 780 in BoS. I can run BF4 maxed out and get 100 fps @ 2560x1440 with vsync on my 100+Hz panel. I also notice even if I use AA I still see jaggies running BoS. It must be AMD dropping support for DX9 titles within their drivers. When I load up DCS world my fps are horrid no matter what settings I go with and DCD world is also DX9.
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 S! Static. I can feel your pain. When Mechwarrior Online was still DirectX 9.0c my FPS were not that good, could keep at around 50-60fps with VSync. When MWO went DirectX 11 my FPS jumped easily by 25-30fps up! This on a single 290X, had a weaker CPU back then, the AMD FX-8350. Do you use any profiles for BoS with your CrossFire setup?
Static Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Hey Flanker, I do not use any profiles for BoS but I tried messing around with Radeon Pro a bit but I still have not found any good settings that help. What resolution do you run BoS at and what are your fps you get with your 290x?
CisTer-dB- Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Wierd mine is smooth at 3840 x 2160 with only one of my GPU working on my R9 295x2. I wish I could make the second one working
Dakpilot Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Well Nvidia have stepped up and added compatibility in their latest drivers, perhaps AMD will do so also, even if only after actual release of BoS Fingers crossed for all AMD users Cheers Dakpilot Edited September 23, 2014 by Dakpilot
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 S! I run the game on 1920x1080, Ultra. Head shake and motion blur OFF, 4x FSAA, Fullscreen, VSync ON, No FPS limiter. Framerates are anything between 40 to 121fps. 121Hz being my screen refresh rate. I should get the card today or tomorrow. AMD's support. Would not hold my breath while waiting Took them 10 years to fix the original IL-2
CisTer-dB- Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) That's what I got, noted how low you need for the VRAM at Ultra at that resolution with BoS. With CloD or DSC I am close or at 4 Gb Edited September 23, 2014 by Decibel_dB
-LaFrench-Partaille Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Hi ! The GTX970 is mine ! I played in ultra, AA *2, I have between 40 (ground) and 90 (high in the sky) FPS. My second GTX970 is coming. I will tell you, but I think I will have 65-70 (ground) and 144 FPS.
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 S! Partaille, post your results when SLI up and running I get my second 290X today, so can test CrossFire
weasel Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Hi everyone. Exited to get back on the cockpit after almost 10 years of break I currently own an triple monitor setting doing 5760x1080 and I was wondering how does it work in this new IL2. Old one needed all kinds of stuff to get it working so I was wondering if it is supported on this new IL2. Thanks Cheers
-LaFrench-Partaille Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 S! Partaille, post your results when SLI up and running I get my second 290X today, so can test CrossFire I will ! But atually, my pc can't have SLI, so I'm waiting for my new mother card and CPU, but of course, I will tell in this topic how many fps I have.
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 S! OK. Have fun with the new system, will rock for sure
CisTer-dB- Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Flanker if you manage to get your 2nd GPU working please keep us inform. I want to know how o7

(I'm interesting in purchase one GTX970, but I haven't info about the performance at 1200p...) Thx!!
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 S! Currently installing the cards and software, then later a bit of testing the performance.

Static Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) Its weird how using the game AA settings do nothing to improve the graphics quality. Setting Low looks better than Ultra with 4x AA. For some reason vsync does not work for me with BoS. I turned off my fps limiter and only selected vsync via BoS settings and it will not sync to my panels 100Hz refresh rate. The max fps are around 130 and they should be synced at 100-101 fps with vsync enabled. OP why not us 2560x1440 or is 2550x1440 a typo? Edited September 28, 2014 by Static

So, with my new pc : 2 GTX970 (SLI) and i7 4790k, i'm beteween 80 fps to 120. It's fantastic.

I7-3930K on an Asus Rampage IV Formula with 12 GB RAM GTX 780 driving Dell U2713HM @ 2560 X 1440 With all BoS settings max'd, I've never seen a frame rate below 60. Clocks slightly over stock, but not really enough to matter.
CaK_Rumcajs Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I7-3930K on an Asus Rampage IV Formula with 12 GB RAM GTX 780 driving Dell U2713HM @ 2560 X 1440 With all BoS settings max'd, I've never seen a frame rate below 60. Clocks slightly over stock, but not really enough to matter. It's a subject of change every patch. With the last patch I'm getting something like 58 to 70 at ground level (slightly higher than when I wrote the first comment) and I even turned on a FPS limitter at 80 because it really doesn't make sense to go higher with FPS. So yep I'm really satisfied with performance of BOS.
