BillyBark Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I've installed and messed around with the 109 G-2. It's a struggle to taxi but I'm slowly making progress. Any suggestions as to a good starting AC? Also I've been Selecting Quick Mission taking off and flying around usually there is some AAA or trains to ground attack which has been a good learning experience. Any other suggested approaches for new player?? Thanks!
oneeyeddog Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Welcome BKK. I think the IL2 is one of the easier planes to taxi and fly and it has the added benefit of being a great ground attack AC. you can load it with a wide variety of ordinance and even a rear gunners position if you choose.
II./JG53Lutzow_z06z33 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 You have to use power to make the 109 go where u want it as it has a small rudder and needs a good bit of airflow to make it effective also If you push the stick full forward it will unlock the tail wheel and allow tight turns.

FuriousMeow Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Use the wheel brakes, they actually have a lot of impact and matter quite a bit in taxiing. LW planes have Left/Right brakes while all of the current VVS aircraft have a single button to depress that activates both brakes and the rudder direction dictates which wheel brake (left or right) gets activated. indiaciki Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) I always do a ground loop with the 109's tailwheel locked (at landing)??? Edited September 19, 2014 by indiaciki
=EXPEND=Dendro Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I always do a ground loop with the 109's tailwheel locked (at landing)??? You might be using too much rudder ? Try wiggling the rudder a bit in both directions?
