HagarTheHorrible Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Full real servers or servers that restrict views to the cockpit are great at restricting Vpilots to realistic viewing constraints, however they also lose something of the bueaty of the sim. I propose that we have the ability to have an external viewing option, even on servers that restrict views while the players aircraft is still on the ground. There are two benefits to this. Firstly from the aesthetic standpoint, you get to take in the bueaty and workmaship of the aircraft that you're inhabiting, not least if you've opted to use a custom skin. It's akin to looking in a mirror before you go out for a night on the town, you want to know you're looking your best and suitably dressed. Secondly and possibly more importantly, having access to external views allows for becoming orientated when you're dropped into the sim at a hard standing, knowing what is around you, taxi way layout and where the end of the runway is. As soon as an aircrafts wheels leave the ground, external viewing options, on those servers that restrict views, kick in , returning you to the cockpit view, if indeed you hadn't already done so. 3
