IL-2 1946 Style MDS Stalingrad

While waiting I thought it could be nice to explore the Stalingrad area IL-2/46 style (4.12.1).

 

This is a MDS mission to be hosted as a dogfight server, be it passworded to fly solo (as I do) or closed coop or even wide open for team versus team.

 

No actual victory point but I added a few secondaries, count them for victory maybe

(much easier scripting missions in ArmA)

Ingame briefing:

 

Stalingrad 15.November 1942.

1 hour MDS mission.
Victory is achieved when ground forces arrives at target (or ditto enemy is 50% destroyed).

Red Army must stop the German ground forces heading south through Stalingrad (primary) and units heading north into Stalingrad (secondary).

Luftwaffe must stop the Soviet ground forces counter attacking from the North and East through Romanian Divisions (secondary) and destroy 50% of the 3 industry areas each (secondary).


  AI planes:

2-ship AI flights will fly CAP over each ground forces every 30 minutes.
4-ship AI flights will target enemy ground forces every 15 minutes or so.
One Industry area will also be targeted by German AI bomber flights.

Players are to augment these activities as escort, intercept or ground attack, and bring back the plane to base.

 

As I didn't get "Taxi to runway" to work please avoid start of runway as AI will spawn there.

12x Bf109F4 (Stalingrad)
12x Bf109G2 (Stepnoy)
12x He-111H6 (Stepnoy)
12x Ju87D3 (Stepnoy)
12x Ju88A4 (Stepnoy)
12x IAR81a (South and West)
12x IAR81c (South and West)
  6x MC.202 (West)
  6x CR.42 (West)

Half of these planes are available as static planes and may be destroyed reducing the available planeset numbers.


  Reconnaisance planes:

Pe-2
Ju88A4

(avoid using these if not aware of their function)
 

Ground radar at Stalingrad and Volzhskiy airbases - destroy them to blind the enemy.

 

 

That is - 3 areas, Main area is Stalingrad but also available is two "side missions" mainly occupied by Romanian airforce (and some Italian) if you feel down town Stalingrad gets at bit too intense.

 

So get in to your LaGG-3 and start training

(no worries, fly any plane you like in the plane set)

 

Now, since I'm fairly useless at flying all AI is on Novice - feel free to alter if you like the mission and want a stronger opposition.

 

I didn't get moving frontline to work as in the original MDS by Zuti but I guess the mission works ok anyway.

(Industry target area for german bombers doesn't show up on ingame map, no idea why but follow the AI bombers if you want to make a bombrun during the hour).
