I'm Scared To Ask But I Will

Can some one give me or point me to a rough idea of how BoS compares to Clod.  I did Clod with Team Fusion Mod for sometime and then stepped away to the DCS sims.  The BoS theater interests me a lot.  In Clod multiplayer is where it seemed to shine.  I'm curious on how the BoS single player will compare to that of Clod.  Most of the posts/vids that I've seen for BoS are multiplayer so I'm wondering if single player is getting the attention it needs to shine and not be a disappointment. Thanks

I can't comment on CloD as I do not own it. I'll leave it up to other people to get this thread locked. ;)

We don't yet know much about BoS's singleplayer, but considering how little we've heard from about it, they must be working pretty damn hard on it. Jason also stated that they are focussing on singleplayer, not multiplayer. So yeah, it is their priority and we don't yet know much about it, but considering the outstanding quality of their work so far, I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Regarding the lack of a "dynamic campaign": it is a historical simulator. Germany lost the Battle of Stalingrad, so there's not much to be "dynamic" about; a single pilot, heck, even a whole squadron had very little impact on the battle itself.

It's certainly an original approach campaign-wise, we'll have to wait for release to see if it works.

Its far more arcadish game than CloD, not exactly a simulator. This game push the throttle and shoot em' all typo game.

The most basic difference (in my humbles) between CloD and BoS is that BoS works. It just works. That's almost all you need to say.

But there are other things to say. The "sensation" of being up in the air in BoS is second to none. Much more convincing than CloD. Add to that the fact that the terrain looks amazing (particularly in the distance - compared to CloD's bowl-of-snakes approach to rendering waterways at distance, and the ground handling and damage model, and it's great.

CloD oh CloD! Victim of such mad revolutionary ambition! There's so much there that - if it had worked - would have been truly astonishing!

Anyway, as for SP, maybe have a look at what RoF does. It's SP campaign seems mostly very good, and I get the impression that the team on BoS really want to immerse us, the players, in the historicity of the Stalingrad Kessel, and I'd say the omens for SP are very good.

Are we playing the same game? How is BOS not a simulator? I think you need to look up the words "Arcade" and "Simulator" one more time
