X-55 Rhino setup tutorial

Hi all

 

Bought this game mainly after having played old il-2 sturmovik and later on il-2 1946.

Even bought myself an X-55 Rhino to learn how to better fly using a more advanced joystick.

Now to my problem. I can for the life of me not get this thing setup properly. I have extremely low experience with what controls I need to setup and how to do it.

 

I guess I am asking you guys of a failsafe tutorial of how to set it up and what different things I need to map and what I can skip.

I am a total noob at setting up joysticks, and i have tried and failed a number of times now. like setting up how to use the hotas different buttons to do simple stuff like setting flaps and end up using both flaps and some viewchange on the same buttons (yea this is how n00b I am).

 

Any and all tips are appriciated.

 

Again I stress the fact that i am very new to this, and the more simple instructions the greater the chance that I understand

Any control which is mapped to multiple things will show a little double square in the controllers setup screen. Hover the mouse over that icon to see what else might need to be remapped or have the mapping cancelled. Most of the time you won't want one control activating more than one function. (One possible exception is trim and stabiliser, as these perform similar function using different systems on Russian and German craft.)

 

Then program your hotas with the most critical things first so they get the most comfortable controls. Fly with them for a bit then find out what you need to have also at hand without moving to the keyboard. Eg. It is handy to have wheel brakes on the throttle so you can operate both with one hand when taxiing.

 

Here is Requiem's mapping for another hotas. Dude I love that stick but the programing is a nightmare, is the support from Saitek is inexistent and the manual incomplete. There is a youtoube video made by a guy name frooglesim I think that is not bad check it out
