LD - EU Expert None STOP server August 30

Anyone else tried this new awesome server?

 

I flew with my 19te Squadron on this server tonight.  This server has exactly the server settings which I like. 

 

- Advanced Engine Management,

- No Icons, but allied planes visually on the map. 

- External views (Im a cinematic romatic guy and love this feature in BOS and in ROF)

- NONE Stop ongoing server

 

My question is will this server continue to be with these AWESOME settings or its it just at test server? Abortedman? Seems to be a mirror of the US Eagle Nest server but with less expert settings?

 

I just hope and wish more people would jump on this server in the future. I believe many pilots playing on the normal servers would find it as a natural progression. When we (the 19te) were on it tonight,  there were over 30 people. I think those who like the expert server idea, but also play because of the cinematic feeling will really enjoy this server.

Played on it yesterday, and it was really fun.

 

It is just like anyother expert server, (exept external view )

 

And it has autobalance wich is much needed regarding the usual stacked german team we have erverywhere else.

 

I also love, just like on eagle nest the fearsome AAA wich make vulching less an issue + the ingame message about the strategic situation.

Hiho Gents,

 

first of all, thanks to Abortedman and Hooves who created the mission and let me host it.

 

The idea is to have a constant running map, you all know the situation, you are on a fighter sweep and flew 30 min, just when you get behind the bandit, the mission is over....

Therefore we setup it up as constant server, we will reboot the server for a mission refresh on a daily bias. We start during the early morning hours, its simply brilliant to see the sun glow upcoming and fight in a dark purple sky

 

Additional i will upgrade the server during the next weeks to get more performance.

yes, it will stay with those settings, i also enjoy the external view on the airfield, but also just at the sunrise in 5000m alt, BoS simply looks absolutly awesome!

I agree it is such a pretty game in external view. I myself get "high" by watching a formation in flyby view.

 

Nice to hear the settings are staying and thanks a lot again for the server.

Just got off the server, as my usual choice The Eagles Nest (ping wisely) were empty. I like the external views, it really make those borings climbing to the enemy less... boring  .

 

But one thing that let me down was the map icons... You simply cant sneak up on people with that. Although it was not a complete disappointment, the map icons were really a bummer and I will think twice before entering the server again (unless its the only one with people), but my usual choice would be a server without icons whatsoever.

 

Anyways,thanks for all the effort putting the server together, it might not be of my taste, but sure others will love it. Keep going!

Keep in mind that with external views you also cannot sneak up on anybody. The third person view does not allow this if someone is watching their six, but more effectively is constantly spamming the "padlock enemy aircraft" button which automatically puts your view directly on any enemy near you.

 

It's not just map icons that are spoiling surprise attacks.

For some reason the server is way more bright than the others. It is almost painfull to the eyes. 

 

Could the time be changed if that causes the crazy bright white? Everything now is blown out white which makes it even harder to spot people.

Need to land with a mostly intact plane, not sure exactly what the triggers are. It needs to be in some kind of flying condition, after you've landed.

 

Not all servers or missions? have points scoring enabled, though.

Custom settings yield 0x points at the moment. But you have the accounting for planes and targets destroyed. Should be enough for your pilot logbook

Hi guys, thanks for the great server. It's pretty much exactly the settings I like.

Also as a WT refugee it's nice to see some familiar names, good to see you all landed safely! 

 

In regards to the external view, maybe there is some way to limit it to a certain distance from homebase? Or maybe even not render enemy aircraft at all in 3rd person so you can't use it to spot.

Oh and the map, I think it should just show you're own position. It's really nice not having to navigate manually when you just want to fly. Also I can manage the engines and shoot the guns but after a couple of beers I don't know where the hell I'm going.

Never heard of expert scores, but I noticed last time I was in the server, I got 0 credit for all my kills. From ripping wings off, to even landing back at the airbase, it wouldn't give anyone credit for that matter.

no, it was just not able to reconnect, because of a version change, should be up again in 5 min and workable as before

I'll have to try this out...as it seems to almost mirror my very-preferred custom settings from RoF.

I think it's nice you don't get external views in this game until the enemy is within "visual" range.  So you can't click through externals to locate other units.  I'll have to try this server out.
