Praetor Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I have a Warthog HOTAS, and my trigger has two key-presses. One key is used when you first move the trigger, and a second keypress is used when you fully compress it. Usually I map the first movement to my MGs and the latter to all guns, or cannons. In BOS this is not possible as you can't map modifiers. Is this planned coming up, or am I not understanding something?
Matt Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 It's possible to set it up very easily. Just press and hold the first trigger stage and then click on the all guns/cannons-only command you want to bind, then press further to trigger stage two. It will not recognize the trigger stage one if you hold it before binding the new command. 3
Praetor Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Ah cool. Got it working. What about other modifiers though, like if I wanted pinky + X for whatever.
chris455 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Ah cool. Got it working. What about other modifiers though, like if I wanted pinky + X for whatever. I have the Wartie and have not had too big of a problem. There are times I have had to bind a button to the modal key (SHF, ALT, CTL) and a different one to the actal keypress, but this is rare.
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) If I am not mistaken I think the OP refers to binding two keys (not mapped keyboard) on the HOTAS to a control function in the game. The last I knew this did not work. Edited September 14, 2014 by VR-Stick
Double_Tap Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 You need to use the GUI software to program the shifted keys. There is a bug where some of the shifted keys do not work properly as the program reads them incorrectly. For example if I hold ALT and 'g' it reads them as 'g', then ALT and only thinks a 'g' has been pressed. There is a workaround if you are prepared to program it via scripts. See here for a better explaination: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2486-wart-hog-profile/
