T6-ADStukadriver Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Now...I know this will not be interesting to many or most, but anyway... after a bit of a hiatus from playing BOS, I finally got a chance to play the sim the other night. After doing a few take-offs and landings, and not crashing, I decided I would brave the combat world to see if I had lost my "stuff". Well, I selected a multi-aircraft quick mission in which I thought my wing men and group would help me stay in the air at least for a few minutes. I had two flights...my flight was just me and an AI with ACE qualities in ME109E's . The next flight was four AI with Veteran status in FW190's. We were facing as many Soviet aircraft of rookie status...or so I thought. The first attempt resulted in me seeing flames in my face after about 20 seconds of flight...the next attempt found me spinning to the ground with a good part of my right wing shot off. But, finally, my third attempt had me under control and getting into a good position to gain energy and thump them. As I came around onto my first victim, I could see flamers on their way to the ground...I thought, "Gee, I hope my aces leave some for me..." I should not have worried. The Soviets pounded my allies...leaving only me and one FW to fight the remaining five Soviets. I do not think that FW fired one shot, though. Luck was on my side for once, and after a series of nice, long dog-fights, the skies were cleared of my enemies...The remaining FW (who must have retained his entire ammo load) and I flew smartly back to base. GOOD TIME! But...I am wondering...was there an in-flight command I should have activated to get my flights to aggressively go after the opposition? I have to admit that I did miss the other-wise irritating chatter from the wingmen,,,no one spoke at all...and I noticed no ground communications telling me to land or finish the mission. The hits that I received seemed muted, as well. I also have to add that I think the cloud effects are just great. This is a really enjoyable escape from reality. Thanks for creating it.
Dakpilot Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 At this stage of development the FW190's seem to have a bit of an AI issue, sure will be patched Cheers Dakpilot
Finkeren Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Yeah right now the Fw 190 AI flies extremely conservatively. It was the same thing in the beginning for the LaGG AI.
BMA_West Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Sound problems may be solved by bringing the BOS in game sound to its max 100% in your Settings/Sound. Next in your windows sound mixer you can tune the BOS sound down the way you want it. This way you are sure to have the best possible play back of all the different in game audio layers. I cant get TS volume loud enough unless I turn the in game volume down to 70-80 percent and max the TS volume. Consequently, I lose some of the in game feedback. It's a minor annoyance but any solutions between the two? Edited September 5, 2014 by HerrMurf
FuriousMeow Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) As West said, turn up volume in BoS to 100%. Then you alt-tab while BoS is still running. Click the speaker in the lower right in the Windows taskbar. Click "Mixer" and you'll have different volume controls for different items running. Turn down the BoS slider only, alt-tab back - play and adjust as necessary. That way it will run 100% in game, but less overall in Windows so you can have TS running at 100% relative to BoS in Windows. Edited September 5, 2014 by FuriousMeow 1
BMA_West Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) In that windows mixer you can balance/fine tune the play back as you are not only able to bring the bos sound down but also to bring the TS sound up. There should be a master controler on the left to get it all up or down the way it is mixed or you may clck on an individual appliances and next you can tune that single one. II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Thanks, I'll give it shot when I get airborne on Sunday.
76SQN-FatherTed Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Herr Murf, look for the TS plug-in "Volume Control" by Goreki. It lowers the game volume when you or others are speaking.
