II./ZG2_Gaga Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Airbases that are alive? That scramble Ais ? That scramble little people to man the AA guns? That scramble Ai ambulance and fire engine when you crashland on airfield ? Rearm ? Reload? Repair? huh?
FlatSpinMan Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Airbases that are alive? That would be one of my picks. It adds so much to missions, I think. These were places that people worked and lived on. There should be clutter, equipment, or hell, at least people. These two shots aren't anything that special but just an example of what could be done. http://i310.photobucket.com/albums/kk426/FSMplanepics/busybase.jpg http://i310.photobucket.com/albums/kk426/FSMplanepics/Airfieldnoon.jpg
[LAS]URURolf Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Nice, I used to put static convoys on il2 when building missions, so that when someone go straffing some places on an airport, there will be people running everywhere. When it became modded, I created a convoy of a single truck, so that you can disguise it inside a building. The result was the same... people runnign for their lives on the airbase! Also, there was a mod where Artillery units suffer the same effect. 1
Ribbs Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I agree! Having airfields that are "alive" are essential imho... adds soo much more immersion. Trucks and people animated and moving around.. even if they are simple models with simple routines to begin with.
Foobar Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) That scramble little people to man the AA guns? What little people are you talking about? Any dwarfs? Edited December 13, 2012 by Foo'bar
AdlerAngriff Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Since the two companies merged and have quite some experience under their belts I think that the thigns people are mentioning here should be mandatory. The problem I had with like next-gen sims is that they usually "just" focus on getting graphics and the flight model up to speed. Which is very cool but I think taht these two companies have all of the resources needed to make even further steps in sim developmnet. Personally I am a much bigger fan of company supported addons then community mods. If there can be a choice ofcourse.
334th_L0C0 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 A legit question, but.... Having airfields that are alive, takes both the company and the community. The company, to provide such effects as mentioned above, but with the community's ability to build/populate the map themselves. example There is nothing worse than attempting to build a mission that ends with the red team landing at particular airfield, and that airfield already has a german truck as part of the map's static scenery that cannot be deleted. An airfield, aswell as the rest of the map should be empty/clear of either team's ground units until the mission builder populates it. R/R/R would be quite nice aswell.. 1
kestrel79 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I can see this stuff possibly down the road, but on initial release? No. I look at the cool features and stuff added and changed in RoF since 777 took over and it will probably be similar with this project. Get a solid foundation or base down with a solid sim that works, then with good support ($) from us, add the good stuff we want later.
