SOLIDKREATE Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I was weighing the option of getting Adobe CC. It is $20 USD/mo for student licenses and $40 USD/mo for regular licensing. So, that is $480 year. If you were to buy Illustrator and Photoshop together it would be something in the area of $1,500 USD. With the Adobe CC you get ALL software and you will always have the newest version too, no upgrades to ever buy. I was wondering does anyone here have this option? What are your thought on this new subscription based software boom? Would you rather just buy the new version every time it comes out? Does it really matter to always have the newest thing on the block to be competitive in the graphics or gaming market? - Isaac
fdswer Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I have CS5 Production Premium and I have not found it to be dated yet. I ask myself once and awhile if its time to upgrade and have not found a reason to yet.
SYN_Blackrat Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) I am just interested in light room and photoshop for photography and painting skins etc. I have the photography package which includes just these two packages which considering the up front cost of both and then upgrade costs makes it very much a no brainer for me, annual subs is cheaper than just buying lightroom outright. I could not justify the full package as I just wouldn't use it. I also get some cloud storage and an option for lightroom on my Ipad if that was of any use. I think it is a great plan by Adobe, they will capture all those users who may not have actually bought a very expensive piece of software, so more income. If you already bought CS5 then I guess it is not worth upgrading just yet. Edited September 5, 2014 by SYN_Blackrat
