IIN8II Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Tried my hand at making some gun cam footage in BoS. Mainly LaGG-3 with 23mm or 37mm cannons and IL-2 with 23mm and rockets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18awifDwZjM&feature=youtu.be Edited September 1, 2014 by IIN8II 10
LuftManu Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Nice! almost looks real! the Ground strafing!
molotovb Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 That's pretty amazing. That was my first impression on the first couple of missions, actually - "this looks exactly like gun camera footage." Well done.
HagarTheHorrible Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Looks good. The only things that look odd are the straight tracers (need a gun cam video mod) and the rather excesive amounts of vapor/smoke.
Finkeren Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Very well done, especially the ground attack sequences look very convincing. The one thing I miss is a bit sharper contrast. Is some cases there are too many details visible on the planes, where in real gun cam footage they almost always appear uniform black.
Elbows Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 We were talking about this the other night - and how fantastic it would be as an option following missions etc. Disable if you have unlimited ammo or something, but to be able to watch gun camera footage (with auto-applied filters/no sound etc.) after a mission. Would be pretty damn cool. 2
oneeyeddog Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Really Nice N8. Looks authentic to me. Thanks for posting.
Rjel Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Excellent job! The last shot of strafing the train looked incredibly real.

Static Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Well done! The music goes well with the footage you created. Edited September 1, 2014 by Static
Freycinet Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 As with your last guncam reel, just excellent, superb!
Pharoah Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Nice footage, but makes me wonder. Was the He-111 that 'soft' in terms of ability to take damage and survive? I know the 23mm or whatever will cause massive damage however I haven't survived a fighter attack online to date and it usually doesn't take more than a few squirts before the bird is on fire.
Schwalbee Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) To make the video more epic, watch it in 240p or 144 :D Edited September 2, 2014 by Schwalbe
Zoring Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Really fantastic! Superemely authentic. Would love for it to be a mode for our replays in IL2! I love that you re-created a few famous guncam clips too, If that was deliberate or not, either way superemely awesome. It does highlight one little thing though, far too easy to mess up those Heinkels, vapor trails come out a bit too easy right. You don't see it like that so much in actual gun cam.
3instein Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 awesome video man, love the attack on the locomotives, especially liking the explosion effects with the shockwave being noticeable as it explodes, very nice indeed. mick.
jaydee Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Awesome stuff N8. Felt like watching an old Newsreel Clip.
Imur6 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Good, but as I know, from WW2 TV documentary, cannon goes a bit zig zag like lightning from view of gun camera haha
SCG_Neun Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Super! I love the concussion when that train blew up.
