=69.GIAP=MALYSH Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Looking forward to BoS! The "geeyap" welcomes all, new or veteran, young or old. We've got a top-notch training program designed by a retired USAF training officer for those who are interested, but plenty of ptab to drop on enemy heads for those who are not. :D We are a proud and friendly bunch who strap ourselves into the cockpits of legendary warbirds in the great air simulation games IL-2 Sturmovik 1946, IL2-Cliffs of Dover and Rise of Flight, where we do combat with any Capitalist or Imperialist air forces or navies that get in our way! Where else can you be flying a fearsome Fokker over Amiens in the morning, smashing tanks an IL2 over Smolensk at lunchtime then bailing out of your Spitfire for tea and biscuits in Buckingham palace in the afternoon? You can choose a career flying nimble fighters, spending hours in front of the mirror adjusting your hair gel or dedicate yourself to unleashing cartloads of cannon shells, rockets, bombs and retribution with the hairy arsed ground attack crews or wrestling huge four engined bombers around the skies with our Strategic bombing team. The fame of the 69.GIAP traverses the globe, having saved the British Empire in the Battle of Britain and assisting the American entry to the war due to a slight navigational error during weapons training over Hawaii. While the US Navy were a bit cross, the USAAF subsequently spent millions of dollars developing our training program. Many of our squad members fly in real life so we can assure you this is as real as it can get flying in your front living room. 1

Volkoff Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) Check out www.69giap.com Campaigns running in US, European and African timezones Friends, opponents and recruits welcome Stenka, I checked out your squadron and I am very impressed. I do have a few questions. Since my questions may apply to other aspiring VVS pilots, I thought I would post my questions here, rather than pm my questions. 1) When IL2 BOS is released, will the 69 GIAP still require that 69 GIAP members must have IL2 1946? I would like to sim fly ROF and IL2 BOS, exclusively. 2) Will you recreate your very impressive IL2 1946 training program for the IL2 BOS sim? I would like to train on all of the IL2 BOS planes, while going through your BFM training, ACM training, and ACT training. 3) Does the 69 GIAP need future Yak and LA-5 pilots? While I will be utterly happy to train on and sim fly any IL2 BOS VVS machine, particularly if our bomber specialists are not available to fly in a given mission, I would really like to specialize in sim flying the Yaks and La rides. Thank you for your consideration of my questions. MJ Edited August 14, 2013 by MishaJames
The-Mysteron Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Ah! good to see my old sqdn is ready for the titanic tussle over Stalingrad. We of 5./JG27 await you .
=69.GIAP=STENKA69GIAP Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 1) When IL2 BOS is released, will the 69 GIAP still require that 69 GIAP members must have IL2 1946? Once we have our training converted to BOS, 1946 will not be neccesary to participate in training. After training pilots choose what platform they fly. So even today they could delete 1946 from their hard drive and specialise in ROF if that's what they want. 2) Will you recreate your very impressive IL2 1946 training program for the IL2 BOS sim? There are two parts to this, the self service training missions will need to be rewritten, tested and possibly changed. If you look at the ROF basic training pack it is different from the IL2 pack. However it is actualy easier to adapt BFM, ACM and ACT training to BOS. All of the training supports teach the principles which are for real life combat and apply to any good SIM. I will then need to build one training mission as a sandpit, which should take about 2 hours. After that the trainers need to put in some airtime to get comfortable. So that should all take about 2 weeks from pre-release. 3) Does the 69 GIAP need future Yak and LA-5 pilots? Yes, and you will get a free Laminated Coffin (Lagg 3) to smash up during training 4) Does the 69 GIAP still supply Kadets free beer and loose women? Of course, this is the VVS you know 1

Of course, this is the VVS you know Stenka, Thank you so much for the fast reply! I would definitely like to be considered for membership, to begin training with the 69 GIAP, this Fall. I regret that I cannot start sooner, but, if I am accepted, I will be a very active member. I intend to play ROF and BOS for many years to come, so I will be able to stick with the 69 GIAP for many years. By the way, I have some skin making experience. Depending on how the squad likes my skin work, I can help your 69 GIAP skin maker create IL2 BOS 69 GIAP VVS personal skins for the existing squad members and future squad members, too. 707shap_Srbin Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 (edited) Also, general info in 69giap. On 19.02.1945, for succesfull actions for liberation of Krakow (Poland), 69giap received name "Krakovski". Somewhere areund summer 1943, 69iap was awarded by Order of Alexander Nevski. And after that, this Order was painted on all P-39's of 69giap. So, it was such as "emblem" of 69giap, for example as here (pilot V. Tchizh in front of his P-39): Edited August 24, 2013 by =KAG=Bersrk
=69.GIAP=STENKA69GIAP Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 Hi Bersrk, Thx for the info and pics, You missed another shocking fact, Stenka Razin was hung drawn and quartered by the Tzar in 1671. How on earth does he get to be flying a Stormovik over Stalingrad in 1942? 2
707shap_Srbin Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 1. His name was Stepan 2. Stenka now is flying Il-2 Sturmovik
=69.GIAP=TUSHKA Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Thanks, Bersrk, you have uncovered some information that we lost with the passing of our squad historian. Our squad is inspired by the real 69 GIAP, but is not intended to be a historical recreation of that squadron. We fly in all theaters (including WWI) and fly all aircraft roles - not just fighters. Our main goal is to have fun! However, thank you for your gift of this information. It is greatly appreciated. P.S. we also share a passion for the IL-2. 1
707shap_Srbin Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Addition: 69giap was awarded Order of Alexander Nevsky on 26.04.1945 for: За образцовое выполнение боевых заданий командования в боях при прорыве обороны немцев и разгроме войск противника юго-западнее Оппельна и проявленные при этом доблесть и мужество
=69.GIAP=TUSHKA Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Google translate says: For exemplary performance of command assignments in the fighting during the breakthrough of the German defenses and defeat the enemy troops southwest of Oppeln and displaying valor and courage

TheHighwayman Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I ponied up and ordered this. I hope we can integrate it into our squadron. I enjoy 1946, but it could use a graphics overhaul. :-) =69.GIAP=TOPYI
=69.GIAP=MALYSH Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 nice info, thanks!
