1./ZG1_ElHadji Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 New pilot from Sweden checking here. I'm new to BoS but not to flight sims. I have probably flown everyone there is since the 80's (yeah... I'm THAT old) - both civilian and combat sims. My drug of choice up until now has been Digital Combat Simulator and I am a DCS WW2 Backer. Before that I did some flying in IL-2 CloD and also Rise of Flight (which I still enjoy). In short - I am a sucker for aviation and flight sims in general and World War 2 birds in particular. I spend a lot of hard earned cash (as much as my wife allows) on this hobby and my next investment will be MFG Crosswind rudder pedals. My first impression of IL-2 BoS I'm loving it so far. It has this gritty feel to it and I can't wait for the campaign eventhough multiplayer probably is where I will spend most of my flying hours. The graphics is stunning and the game performance is great given the level of detail. Got my first AI kill the other day dogfighting a Yak while flying a Bf 109 G. I have shot down a lot of AI pilots over the years but what happend here was that the AI pilot lost track of me and I managed to sneek up on him from below. Never had that happen versus AI before. Here is what it looked like: My only negative remark so far is about TrackIR support. I am using Requiems profile but I'm still not 100% satisfied with the smoothness inside the cockpit. I think you actually can see some 'jerkiness' in the video above when I move my head fast to glance at the instruments while trying to track the enemy plane. I have no problems with this in either RoF or DCS so I'm not sure what is wrong here. Other than that IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad is shaping up to be one of my favourite flight sims. Cheers! 1
SeriousFox Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 About the TrackIR, try to turn off head shake option at Camera setting.
1./ZG1_ElHadji Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Thanx! I'll try that. I have also set it to 'Pan Camera'. Is that correct? Edited August 31, 2014 by -=XBOYZ=-ElHadji
xray96 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I'm sure I've read this before.. have you posted this somewhere else?
DeafBee Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Welcome Hadji. Must have seen you in the skies of ROF . I was using Sids profile from Rise Of Fligt too, but I am now using the default one with camera "Movement inertia " in the game for both Snap and Pan on 100 %. Try that out. It seems to do the job for me in BOS.
