LeazesNDR Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) Why should we be happy? - 1c and 777 layed track for the future of our main hobby as oppose to no ww2 at all. - Way better physics - Way better relationship information flow to the community - constantly improving the game and releasing content No we wont get everything we want, but we arent like these kids who think they will get it anyway, arent we? Yer not wrong about the constant improvements to ROF. Up to version 1.12, there were a few things I hated about the sim, planes popping up out of nowhere, the edge of a map having striped lines being two of the things I didn't like. Thing is, 777 read the RoFand SIm HQ forums and fixed them amongst other things. Have generally found the customer service to be spot on and the improvements continual this is why I am very hopeful for BoS Edited December 12, 2012 by LeazesNDR
VO101Tom Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Guys. Thanks the advice, yes the super sampling and HDR was on. I'll try without it. Might have had to look, but I not thought, the 3 year old DX9 game able to overload my pc. My bad. I didn't want flame, or clodfan vs roffan war, I'm just suprising the current graphics of ROF. The fps just one part of it, the DX9 is the second, the simple graphics the third, the online performance the fourth, and we don't know the rest (BoS CEM, equipments, details, features).Besides the negatives, I like many things in ROF, like DM, FM, the details of WW1 era, the UI far better than clod, and I heard much the great community relations, so I hope it will change over time, but (at least now) I feel sorry for the way things have turned.

They had deal such a minorities also, we can't say, that they did not care at all... I'm glad, if the rof team make the same.
Roast Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 VO101 Tom has a good point, but on the other hand, news of this new flightsim is only one day old and we actually don't know anything other than an announcement and the engine it will be based on. Using RoF engine doesn't mean we will get RoF landscape, in a way it is just a hook to hang your coat on. Let's hope the atmosphere will be similar to what Oleg once started, during winter's as cold as ice and warm colours on a autumn day
Fishbreath Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Guys. Thanks the advice, yes the super sampling and HDR was on. I'll try without it. Supersampling through the RoF menu is very inefficient--8x supersampling is trying to render 64 times as many pixels as 0x supersampling! I have much better framerates and image quality using 8x supersampling in the RoF menu, set to the middle performance mode in the ATI control panel (adaptive MSAA). It does cause slight graphical artifacting with HDR enabled, because the HDR glow effect shaders don't get antialiased in the same way, but even 4x in RoF and supersampling in the ATI control panel is pretty playable for me, and absolutely gorgeous. I do prefer HDR in RoF. I use the Mono High setting; just High results in odd changing color balance as you look around that I don't like.

Pudfark Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 777 is a successful business. Meaning, that they know what folks want and they have a record of delivering it. That in itself, is enough for me now. Further speculation at this point? Seems moot.

That in itself, is enough for me now. Further speculation at this point? Seems moot. If that were true then they would have fixed the FMs not that COD was a shinning success in that field either, I just hope the are more attentive to FMs in BOS... (777 if you want more ppl online fix the albatross FM ) Tom I completely agree, the trees in both games have flaws... ppl always talk about the popping of trees in COD but I get the same thing in ROF the hit detection is nice but I can count on one hand the number of times I saw a pilot flying through trees on ATAG in COD and I have 500+ hours, that said I when I did see it I got very annoyed. I see it like this, down low CODs trees are the clear winner but up high ROF's kick ass... The landscape on the other hand looks much better in COD in my opinion, I hope they spend a bit more time on the textures and bump mapping in BOS. Edited December 12, 2012 by JG52Krupi
