chris455 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Obviously a LOT of effort went into this. Bravo Zulu, Chuck!
SCG_Neun Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Wow, some of the work you guys do just amazes me. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Just another example of the shining side of this community. We tend to focus way to much on the negative. Thanks again.
Pharoah Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Has anyone been able to map the oil radiator and shutter controls to an axis and make it work? I mapped all of the extra 'handles' eg. water radiator, oil radiator, etc to individual throttles on my yoke (which works in the mapping screens, etc) however it doesn't seem to work ingame eg. I'll have it open fully but the ingame controls won't move.
Habu Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 No, i asked to the dev, but i have no answer at that time. The lever for the oil radiator have several position. Maybe, it's to simulate these positions they choose to use key instead axe.
354thFG_Leifr Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Lotfe. I'm not convinced it's working properly. It seems we're missing a considerable number of controls to directly manipulate the bombsight in automatic drop release, there's certainly a degree of finesse found in CLoD that cannot be applied in Stalingrad. Right now we can only directly trim the aircraft, we cannot adjust the sight itself to obtain an immoveable point of release. Here are the relevant controls for CLoD, including a video where one can see these keys directly working to manipulate the bombsight (such as moving it laterally to compensate for aircraft drift). Specifically, CTRL+4 // CTRL+6 seem to be absent from this game, as well as the possibility of adjusting the sight velocity (and altitude) in finer degrees of control - we're capable of jumping in 5km/h notches right now, as opposed to correctly applying in 1km/h increases. The same may be said of the altitude adjusters. Edited September 4, 2014 by Leifr
Bomred Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks, usefull I hpe. I´ll try to collapse some buildings overthere...
Blutaar Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I want to Thank you too, great Job, it helps me alot in the Campaign so i have every Plane fully unlocked, the Pe-2 was no problem because i used it like a divebomber but the He-111 gave me the most problems, Thanks. Why we cant use Rudder trim in Level-Autopilot, slip indicater or how it is called is never in the middle and the Bombsight is constantly drifting sideways? The only way to keep the ball in the middle was to operate the throttle of one engine seperately but even then the Bombsight is drifting sideways, this is why i never touched the He-111 after grinding it 100%, if it would work without the drift i would fly it sometimes.
[DBS]Prody Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 i tried to follow your guide and have fun with a bomber but no matter what i do, i cant influence the mixture. Has anything change since you posted this, is mixture automatic now ? I see that graphics also are different from your picture, they no longer have those yellow caps on top of the mixture controllers . Thanks
Lusekofte Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Has anyone figured out how to get the bombsight automatic mode to work consistently? Even with no wind, it doesn't seem to track the target accurately if you set the speed and altitude according to the instruments - and adjusting the speed to get it to track better then seems to result in the drop point being off. If the crosshair moves with the plane add more speed on the settings, if it goes oposit of the plane (backward) decrease speed on the settings. It is IAS (indicated airspeed) and it is always lower than TAS(True Air speed) Haven't had the time to fly BOS properly yet , if this is simulated properly it should be as I say, have not tested it yet myself
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Why we cant use Rudder trim in Level-Autopilot, slip indicater or how it is called is never in the middle and the Bombsight is constantly drifting sideways? I struggle with level bombing (using auto mode). Rudder trim (whilst using auto level) appears to have no affect other than for a brief moment when i press the key. It soon centers itself back - like the pilot is compensating against my added trim. I drift way too much and have to constantly bank to correct. Am I missing something?

The yellow caps are black now and are not the mixture. It's the supercharger which has 2 positions : automatic and Stage 1. Push : Automatic (default) Pull : Stage 1

I find it a constant fight to adjust the plane just so that it doesn't drift sideways off course every bomb run?
