AA_Engadin Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 "Could Be Better: Odd looks from co-workers when attempting to type with them. Cannot actually type with them. Will make your HOTAS seem lame by comparison. “My pedals suck” is no longer a valid excuse for that crater at the end of the runway. They cost money." http://www.simhq.com/air-combat/mfg-crosswind-pedals.html AA_Engadin 2
dburne Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Nooo nooo, must... not...read.. My budget is blown for the next couple of months already! Man, those look so sweet.
sop Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 One of toe brakes went on my Saitek flight pedals(which sucks if you play dcs huey) I must have had them for about 4/5 years at this stage with no problem, but hey I get reason to order a set of these.))
Requiem Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Would love to get a set of those pedals, but it's pretty much an impossible task to get it past the minister of war and finance. It's going to be hard enough trying to justify an OR eventually let alone these bad boys 1
Panzerlang Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 You know that scene in The Last Crusade where Indiana Jones has all the rudder pedal boxes set out in front of him? Then he has to choose the rudder pedals that Jesus used, which wind up being not the loudest looking box, but actually the most humble? Or something like that?
6high Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Oh darn, how could you post that article.....thats just mean!
III/JG11_Tiger Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Nooo nooo, must... not...read.. My budget is blown for the next couple of months already! Man, those look so sweet. I feel your pain, I have modded Simpeds which are fairly good but I want these, the cost to get them to Australia is still a bit excessive for me at the moment but as soon as I can appropriate the funding from the Lady of the house I'm in. Would love to get a set of those pedals, but it's pretty much an impossible task to get it past the minister of war and finance. It's going to be hard enough trying to justify an OR eventually let alone these bad boys I sold my wife on the OR, and was going to buy but decided I will wait for the release version(not sure if facebook ownership will be a good thing), I explained how I need a monitor replacement but in a way OR is cheaper, she bought it and I will buy them as soon as they are released, unless of course I transgress between now and then, a happy wife is a generous wife in my household.
SR-F_Winger Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 The serial on my Crosswinds is 009 and i can only agree to everthing the review says. They are just an amazing piece of hardware.
StarLightSong Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 got them, sturdy and ergonomic for between the knees joystick use with their wide stance. Toe brakes not picked up in bos so Im still fiddlin...
ST_Pirato Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 You may have to recalibrate the Toebrakes using the MFG Configurator tool when you have changed the Footplates angle.
LLv34_Flanker Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 S! I am on the verge getting either MFG CrossWinds or the other ones by the German dude...Similar price on both too. Decision decisions
OutSider Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I was debating between Slaw and Crosswinds. I picked the Crosswinds cause i expect better support, seems Slaw does this more as a hobby and would be rightly swamped with people wanting info and help, and the differrent cam mounts gives it more options. The Slaw's do look better being all metal. Don't think one can wrong picking ethier set of pedals
SR-F_Winger Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) S! Slaw from Poland, not Germany. Sorry I think they are of similar quality. One could argue "Slaws are metal". That counts for some. But reading quite abit on both i think the crosswinds might be a little better softwarewise (deadzones and stuff). But that comment i have to make with pointing out that i do only posess a set of Crosswinds. So pretty much hearsay. Edited May 21, 2014 by VSG1_Winger
Bearcat Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I plan to get a set of these when my Saiteks die.. I have had them for about 5 or 6 years now.. still working great.
Panzerlang Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I plan to get a set of these when my Saiteks die.. I have had them for about 5 or 6 years now.. still working great. Dude, buy the Crosswinds now! How many years simming are left in you? You're going to miss out on how many of them with Crosswinds by waiting for the Saiteks to die? Don't think of it as an avoidable replacement, think of it as a pleasurable upgrade.
ImPeRaToR Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) I plan to get a set of these when my Saiteks die.. I have had them for about 5 or 6 years now.. still working great. Excuse me for disrespecting your saitek pedals but I have both saiteks and MFG, and the former are a piece of plastic junk in comparision. It is very much like the review says, with the saiteks you are really just guessing your ammount of input and then compensate again, like shooting a weapon from the hip and using the tracers to correct your aim, while with the MFG you are on target right away.
