Sokol1 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) Prototype of new VKB Rudder pedal the "Rudder-T". http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=174638&d=1394250530 "T" is reference to overall pedal shape and work operation different of the classic parallel pedal. Although some "die hard" (or hard head ) simmers say that the design is "not realistic", the Pedal-T design considers the fact that most of flight simmers don't sit on a proper cockpit, on typical fighter position, with the spin with some angle, the legs and back with some angles - and they are strapped to the seat. http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=166490&d=1332517941 http://hsfeatures.com/features04/images/bf109g432ir_3.jpg They sit in office chairs, with the spine at ~ 90 degrees with the foots keeping the balance of the body. So move the legs forward and backward - required a parallel pedal - is not very comfortable. And to make matters worse, the chairs have wheels. In Pedal-T your heel stay on rest leaving the body balanced, you just move the tiptoe down and up. In short the pedal don't look like the F-X935 pedals but for what matter, control the rudder work like other pedals, in more ergonomics way. This pedal can be more cheap than he others models, but come only with rudder axis. Under development are a "bicycle brake" to fit on VWB Mamba or Defender Cobra joystick, which is the philosophy of Russian WWII (and post) fighters brake control. As example il-2:Bo$ LaGG, Sturmovik. Bando Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) These pedals are great for a helo sim (imho). I hope these guys will make throttles too. I believe they're very proficient. I will order the mamba light this summer when I move back to Europe. I hope I can extend the stick with the KG (12/13/20) on top. Will buy Milans rudder system though. I think Milan and Slaw make absolutely great rudders. Edited March 10, 2014 by Bando
AA_Engadin Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Interesting concept and innovative ergonomic POV. Thanks Sokol1 AA_Engadin
racingslippers Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Thanks for the heads up on these. I like the idea a lot.

VR-DriftaholiC Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Almost looks like you could hang it under your desk nose down or stand them upside down off the floor....like real yaw pedals. How much do they travel? until flat with base? Edited April 1, 2014 by driftaholic
oneeyeddog Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Almost looks like you could hang it under your desk nose down or stand them upside down off the floor....like real yaw pedals. How much do they travel? until flat with base? driftaholic, it looks to me like the travel stops when they hit the rubber bumper on top of the front cross member. I have Saitek Combat Pro pedals and I use them in the same way, heel on the rest and operate pedals with my toes. I find it much more comfortable that way but it is a little awkward to use the toe brakes.
