Finally I was able play game after some problems.

Il 2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad feels like high quality game, similar to Rise of Flight.

Gaming is really smooth.

Plane control is demanding, like it should be in simulator.

Graphics of the planes is fantastic, sounds are also good.

Map is nice and feels like very good optimized.

Maybe there are a lot to add, but even now it is FANTASTIC GAME

Thank You Guys

It is really worth to pay 95 $ for this piece of gaming art

Whatever our next TOW, I hope that the team will keep open the possibility of introducing a late version Mig-3 add-on, even if it is introduced as the I-16 will be introduced. Pokryshkin thought highly of her and that says a lot to me, as he was a very pragmatic tactician. Given the persons the team has access to, the 1CGS team is in an enviable position of having access to persons in the k ow about this great machine and could create the most accurate representation of her in existance, outside of actually flying a real one.

Are you sure you would rather have a Spad?

To be more correct: it is not Launcher's issue. But it harms user experience for some of players, thus it will be researched more thoroughly in order to find a convenient workaround.

It is not yet clear how exactly FlightFX mangles hardware rendering in WPF based applications, but crash occurs when transparent layers are rendered and not in Launcher itself, but in WPF libraries, which are part of .NET 3.5 Framework. I read all reports on this matter on forum, so any posts with information, details and solutions are not forgotten and extremely useful for searching of adequate workaround.

taleks, thankyou for the info and really impressed that the team is aware of this and looking for a solution already. :salute:

Hmmm, I only use SPADs when I am lone wolfing. On a WW1 multiplayer server, a SPAD is a lovely lone wolf machine, particularly when one is up against coordinated virtual squads. In BOS, I would definitely go with a BF-109 for such a lone wolf role. The BF-109 combines the advantages of a SPAD XIII with the advantages of a Fokker DVIIf. The Mig-3 is more like a BMW powered Pfalz DXII, a highly useful top cover machine, if you use layered flights and you work closely with others. Unless you intend to encounter a BF-109 Emil or Friedrich-2 machine, and encounter one way up high, I would certainly not use the Mig-3 in the same manner as I would the SPAD XIII, that is, I would not use it as a lone wolf plane, but possibly as part of a free hunting two ship and definitely as top cover for a multi-layered formation, involving various classes of fighters, bombers, and other ground attack craft.   :salute: MJ

I'd expect the eastern theatre to be fleshed out before moving to anything else. Probably you'd see lend lease aircraft added gradually that facilitate the jump to any africa/britain scenario, before the actual expansion hits us.

Yes, I hope so. I want to see at least one Eastern front early war map, one Eastern front mid war map, and one Eastern front map where I can use a P-63, but claim that I am still using a P-39.  ;)

Very impressive stuff, Rivet. I haven't returned with an entire flight, yet. I have to stop escorting my IL2s at 6 km altitude, I guess. I just can't get used to the idea of the escort needing an escort.   In multiplayer it shouldn't be so bad, because we can have a bunch of flights at different altitudes, then I won't feel so exposed, at 3 km, as an escort.

:salute: MJ

Thanks Mikha, but I'm not sure how much of that was luck. I haven't managed it since. In fact my last try was the worst yet. I'm afraid the 109's got one IL-2 before we could distract them, flak or AAA got another and that left us with two to help home but one was trailing thick black smoke and despite a valiant attempt, he crashed after running out of fuel. Soo this time around only one IL-2 returned. In the escort mission it's not easy to repeat your successes - and that's how it should be .

6km? I don't go in any where near that height. Mind you I'm not a great air combat tactician either so what do I know?  Was it Albert Ball in WW1 who used to fly into a furball and relied on his skill to fight his way out? It might be someone else I'm thinking about there but anyway - I'm a bit like that but without the skill

Yeas I understand the Me 163 is not so realistic in Stalingrad . . .but when the game are finish you can think about a other great add on aircraft...the

Messerschmitt Me 323 "Giant"

The Giant Messerschmitt Me 323  as a flyable german aircraft in the game !

It would be great in so many reasons - 1. it would be a very cool aircraft for simulation like this

2. There where flying in Stalingrad as well   3. the aircraft can also take many turret station as well to play in the sim....

let me know about it....

regards

After four years of multiplayer, I am still a mediocre dogfighter, myself. If I ever gt good at it, I am going to start dressing up like Neo and play dramatic theme music while I play. Until then, I am going to sneak up on my betters and whack them over the head, while they are distracted by their spouse or kids and looking away from the computer screen.

Thanks again for the screenshots, Zak.

p.s. It would be real nice if the first historical skin for the Yak-1 was a winter Stepan Mikoyan skin.  :)

Hi all

I had to download the debug from zak to get the installer.  That worked and I could play the game. However, the installer (which says debug in green on the top left) doesn't link to the forum , site, pr agreement links - just the setttings opens.  Is this normal or do I have an installer which may fail me this Friday ?

Are you trying to run the Moscow map? If you are, do you own Battle of Moscow as well?
